This thread is about teams.

Large swim meets will be canceled but the question is will the teams still be able to practice especially with the larger teams of 200+ kids.

If there is going to be any type of team season you will have to think outside of what is “normal”. If the league cancels, nothing bars teams from doing something on their own if they can manage within governor orders.

There’s no swim team without swim meets.

My kids would love to have summer swim even without the meets.

You can’t have swim teams without the meets and if you run them each pool has to pay insurance based on the numbers they had prior years
You could try to modify the swim teams and get rid of B meets and have them intrasquad to qualify for A meets but I’m not sure that would fly just to have a few really swim against other teams
Dive teams will also not happen if they squash swim (NVSL)

This. It’s a stupid post to others without this information.

Wow...really? It's stupid? CALM DOWN!! Would hate to be around you this morning.

The league is ODSL.

I’m calm. Your the one using all caps. Yes, it was a stupid post to others until you provided the identifying info.

You’re a psycho. I feel sorry for your family.

Please explain what makes you say I’m a psycho and why you feel sorry for my family.

Because OP’s kids don’t get to swim this summer.

You don’t seem to understand this is a BIG a DEAL. Anyone who doesn’t understand how emotionally fragile OP is feeling is a narcissistic PSYCHO, okay?

Yes, there are swim teams without meets. Not everything needs to be about competition and winning.

They probably only go to the meets, and not actual practices, so just doing practices isn't good enough as they have to be those nasty competitive parents whose kids have to be at the top. Some kids just enjoy swimming and practices and don't care about meets, like mine.

Some fo the A meet kids/parents only do summer swim for the meets so their kids can dominate and be on top. That is the issue. They don't go to practices except if the team has a minimum practice and participate number.

Teams can do meets with each other or if they are a small pool, maybe another small pool. Teams can meet for exercise, fun, etc.

Yes, you can have swim teams. They just to do meets outside their pool. Why is that so hard to understand? Kids can still swim for practice and have fun.
