Their board meets this afternoon |
Hopefully they won’t make a final decision today. |
Seriously. Making the decision now seems really premature |
There are a few teams making a strong push for canceling altogether. The vast majority have been quiet. |
Is it clear why they are pushing to cancel completely right now? |
I think those pools in NVSL wanting you scrap are not in good financial situations and want to know yes or no. I wish NVSL could figure out how to modify but the insurance is the tough part. |
|
That sucks. It seems like they could have waited a few more weeks to decide.
|
Maybe those pools should decide to not participate this year and not pressure the nvsl to make a hasty decision on behalf of the rest. |
+1. The HOA/neighborhood swim teams should be fine financially. If a pool doesn't want to participate, that's fine. |
|
I’d personally rather know sooner than the last minute so we can make other plans this summer (summer school,
Road trip, etc.). |
| I think they are all going to be cancelled. The governors' plans for reopening do not include large gatherings until phase 3 which is a ways off. Swim meets are large gatherings. Swim leagues are not going to be given a choice. Might as well let people know now. |
| We’re ODSL too. Have they discussed refunds? |
If this were set in stone for outdoor gatherings then the season would have been cancelled already. The (VA, anyway) governor bases decisions on a lot of changing factors, including what we learn about seasonality of the disease. His orders follow the data, and swim league decisions follow from there. |
| Does this include the pools too or just the swim teams? |
Large swim meets will be canceled but the question is will the teams still be able to practice especially with the larger teams of 200+ kids. |
