| At or below the limit in the left lane on the interstate |
THIS. I would be a relatively benevolent dictator, but these people would get the guillotine. Also, people who don’t get out of the way of fire trucks and ambulances. |
|
yes when traffic is backed up. like this...
zipper is fine and works but I think the OP is talking about people who l ride down the thru lane. while other cars have properly merged.. and then force their way in so they can pick up half a dozen extra car lengths when traffic is flowing. the merger should get up to speed with traffic and blend in. but people around have this aversion to pushing the go pedal to get up to speed to safely merge. |
I hate when drivers make a right on red by merging into the oncoming cars making a left on a green arrow. Right on red doesn't mean you have the right to merge into traffic that has the actual right of way! You're only supposed to go right on red when there is NO ONE turning left into that lane. |
I hate these people will all of my being. Nothing gets my blood boiling more. Why do you think it's ok to cut in line?? Would you do it at the grocery store? |
|
Running a red light-- I live in a city where this happens a lot and it's terrifying.
Driving slowly in the passing lane-- slow, simmering rage at people who drive side by side with a car in the driving lane, both going 45 in a 50 and no one can pass. Driving in a middle or left turn lane. Used to live in a city where I would be turning left or into a parking lot, and boom, there is someone in my blindspot, who started the process 1/4 back. Cyclist should not be allowed to ride bikes if they think it's okay to turn right on the shoulder, next to a car that is also turning right (exception is a designated bike lane, otherwise they follow the same rules that cars follow). |
Lane cutting is not a zipper merge. You know that. |
You mean, they are driving in the shoulder? Not sure what you mean by "ride down the thru lane"... |
When I'm riding, I take the lane, to reduce the chance of a driver right-hooking me. (But it isn't comfortable to be in the middle of the lane, behind a tailpipe, with SUVs before and behind me.) When I'm driving, I pay attention to the presence of bicyclists on my right. If I right-hooked a bicyclist while I was driving, it would be my fault. Also, it's factually incorrect that bicyclists must follow the same rules that drivers must follow, about lane-splitting. Bicyclists are legally allowed to ride to the right or left of cars in the same lane. |
Sometimes, yes. But I think what pp means is two lanes splitting - one is going straight, and the other is veering right, towards some sort of exit or different road. And instead of lining up in that right lane, they cruise in the left lane - going in a different direction - cut ahead of people and then merge into the right veering/turning lane at the last minute. These people are jerks and know they're being jerks, but their sense of entitlement are what drives them. |
| Drivers who don't yield at a yield sign. |
It’s not like the grocery store. There’s no “line.” If there are two lanes and one is backed up for miles, I’m going to cruise up closer to the exit and take a gap. I’m breaking no laws and endangering no one. It’s easy to find a gap these days since many of you are looking at your phones anyway. Now THAT’S the real danger. |
| Driving on the wrong side of the road in UK and killing a person. |
Uh, that "backed up for miles" is called a line. I agree that people shouldn't be looking at their phones, but two wrongs don't make a right - you are an entitled, selfish jerk. And probably a Maryland driver. |
