You can buy 10 packs of off-peak classes either through the app or the mindbodyonline solidcore page. You’d really only have to go off-peak for it to be cheaper IMO, since the regular priced single classes are so much more expensive (and check how long a package is good for).

I didn’t see any off peak class packages for sale on the app when I last looked. Maybe in MINDBODY? I can’t tell bc mindbody isn’t showing prices to me since I have a package.

Also, they’re going to start offering 30 min classes in September!

They have some weird name, like off-peak 2 or something. It’s there.

30 min classes at the regular price are a non-starter. They have tried before. At best, I would tack it on to a full-body class since I’m on unlimited.

The 30 minute classes are definitely cheaper as singles, but I don't know how they would work with a package.

Different question: I'm still quite new to solidcore-- I'm going to my 5th class today-- but so far I'm having an issue with how long it takes to recover between classes. I went to a class on Monday evening, and my legs were so wrecked afterward that I really struggled through my cardio workouts on Tuesday and Wednesday. For those who've been doing SC for awhile, are you still sore/fatigued between classes?

Some days (like yesterday) I am still a little sore. The soreness when I first started went away quickly. I also do hot toga and I think that helps.

DP who’s taken for 2.5 years, and I rarely get sore. Usually only when we do hamstrings or inners after not having done them for a while. Occasionally upper body, since my favorite coach loads the springs.

My legs do get fatigued, though, if it’s been a legs-intensive class. I also do Peloton, and can really feel it in those cases. I find you do need to pay attention to recovery with solidcore, especially if you really push yourself there. It’s not an easy activity.

Is solidcore for someone who injures their knees easily?

It’s low impact so I find it’s been a positive for my knee issues.

NP. I finally tried a class. It was hard! The next day my abs and glutes hurt a little but my traps hurt more than anything. Like nearly injured hurt. This makes me think my form sucked and my core is too weak for even the beginner class. FWIW, in the past I’ve lifted heavy, done marathons, CrossFit, an Ironman, Orange Theory, have a black belt, and taught spinning. [Solidcore] was hard and the most frustrating of all the fitness I’ve tried. Did anyone else start off like this? Did anything help you overcome it?

One of the solidcore PPs and, yeah, it was super humbling when I first started. TBH, it still is most days, nearly 400 classes in, but that’s what I absolutely love about it. Make sure to ask the coaches to check your form, and that you’re on lower spring loads (and on your knees for core). It’s meant to be super hard. What helped me get through it was shifting my mindset from thinking I had to feel great to knowing the worse I felt, the harder I was working (worse as in difficult, not as in injured). Making friends and sticking to coaches I love has made all the difference, since I know collectively they have my back.

Wow. I want to try Solidcore but it sounds like you need to be an athlete to get through a class. It sounds TOO hard. Like don’t even try it because it will be awful.

PP directly above you: you don't have to be an athlete, but you should have a basic level of strength and be willing to work very hard. I don't recommend it to most people because most people don't want that level of pain. People are mostly friendly, though, so if you want to try it then go for it!

I started off exactly like that, i.e. sore to the point that I could barely get out of bed or a chair and walking was painful. I am only about 6 classes in and the crushing soreness has gone away and I just have normal soreness. Moderate exercise the next day helps me to overcome extreme soreness-- a long walk or easy spin class (I have a Peloton, so I'll do a Low Impact or "Feel Good" ride). Active recovery works better for me than if I don't exercise at all the next day.

Been doing solidcore 3-4 times a week since 2016 minus about 6 months I was pregnant/recovering from being preg. Close to 600 classes. Still get sore sometimes, still love it. Have noticed some of the newer coaches are not as good as the ones from 3 years ago...

PP here who asked what other SC lovers do. Everyone said Peloton and at first I thought that wasn’t for me. Did some research, and ordered one which came last week. I freaking love it! I also tried an advanced yoga workout through them and it was good—and I’m someone who does a lot of yoga. Thanks for the suggestion!

Awesome, PP! Enjoy! I’m one of the solidcore + peloton folks and had never done spin before we got the bike (purchased solely on the recommendation of solidcore friends). They complement each other so well.

I'm currently on an unlimited membership at one of the VA studios from a deal they ran a while ago - $199 a month for unlimited (astronomically lower than what they say their unlimited package costs on the website). Do they ever run deals like that at the DC studios? My friend was asking if it ever drops below the $399 for unlimited in DC.

Sorry, IDK the answer to your question, but I’m curious how often you go. I did a class on Tuesday last week, a Peloton ride on Wednesday, and another class on Thursday. I thought my legs were going to collapse! I need tips on faster recovery!

They had a sale earlier this year--summer, maybe?--where unlimited for DMV was back to the original $299 price. I fell on that like a ton of bricks. I usually take four times/week, so classes are under $20 each for me. Totally worth it.

My guess is they'll have that sale once a year at most.
