I need to try Solidcore. Sounds fun! I love sailor talk during my workouts. |
| I am about to hit 50 classes this week (a Solidcore baby compared to some PPs)! I love it, and use in conjunction with running and hot yoga. I hurt my knee and can’t run right now, so I’m curious...what other classes do Solidcore loving types enjoy? Barre is way too easy compared to Solidcore, and I want some great cardio to make up for the running. |
Congrats on 50!
I have a Peloton bike, which I bought solely because several friends I made in solidcore highly recommended it. I figured they knew what kind of workouts I like, and they were right. I also am a lifelong runner currently rehabbing a knee injury, so I get it. Swimming is some of the best cardio out there, too, IMO. I also did F45 for a while and liked it a lot, though it’s not always knee-friendly. |
| I also get my cardio from my Peloton. I’ve had it for about 18 months and love it. I’ve been a runner, regular group fitness class participant, and Stairmaster/elliptical user my entire adult life, and it is, by far, my favorite form of cardio. It’s engaging and a great workout. |
|
I’m afraid if I invested in a Peloton, I wouldn’t use it. I went to a spin class yesterday and I didn’t love it the way I love Solidcore and hot yoga, but I did love burning 500 calories. It was so shockingly loud and dark (with red back light) and I couldn’t understand a word the instructor was screaming. Please god, let my knee get better quickly so I can run again.
Speaking of, is anyone doing the Solidcore marathon team for RNR in March? |
I’ve not done much spinning classes, but from what I understand the Peloton classes are much higher quality. I don’t love them the same way as solidcore, but some of the classes are fantastic (Robin’s 45’ Tabata are killer). But it’s definitely an investment. Not doing RNR. Not a fan of the course or the RNR series in general. I ran it ~7 months pregnant with my third, and that was enough. |
They said at class today that over 300 people are on the [solidcore] team for RNR, both full and half. So maybe that’ll make up for it being a blah race? |
| Will I see results with just two classes a week plus cardio on other days? Or do I need to do 3? |
You’ll see results with two, provided you really push yourself. Moves on a 10 count, etc. If you throw in a third class, make it arms and abs. |
| I've noticed that the classes that fit my schedule are mostly "off peak" - I know these classes are supposedly cheaper but it doesn't look like they sell packages for just "off peak" classes...am I missing something? |
You can buy 10 packs of off-peak classes either through the app or the mindbodyonline solidcore page. You’d really only have to go off-peak for it to be cheaper IMO, since the regular priced single classes are so much more expensive (and check how long a package is good for). |
I didn’t see any off peak class packages for sale on the app when I last looked. Maybe in MINDBODY? I can’t tell bc mindbody isn’t showing prices to me since I have a package. Also, they’re going to start offering 30 min classes in September! |
They have some weird name, like off-peak 2 or something. It’s there. 30 min classes at the regular price are a non-starter. They have tried before. At best, I would tack it on to a full-body class since I’m on unlimited. |
The 30 minute classes are definitely cheaper as singles, but I don't know how they would work with a package. Different question: I'm still quite new to solidcore-- I'm going to my 5th class today-- but so far I'm having an issue with how long it takes to recover between classes. I went to a class on Monday evening, and my legs were so wrecked afterward that I really struggled through my cardio workouts on Tuesday and Wednesday. For those who've been doing SC for awhile, are you still sore/fatigued between classes? |
Some days (like yesterday) I am still a little sore. The soreness when I first started went away quickly. I also do hot toga and I think that helps. |
