I see them as humans but I am mentally capable of separating emotion from rational choices. There is much that can be done to help poor. Open borders are not a panacea. All photos can invoke emotions and you should think about who is sharing them and why.

It is fear mongering to post a photo of an Ebola victim when we are talking about the southern border of the US. The photo would be used to stir up irrational fears.

It is not fear mongering to post a photo of an Ebola victim when we are trying to build up support to provide aid to foreign countries suffering from outbreaks. The photo would be used to stir up compassion.

The photo of the drowned dad & child are being used to stir up compassion for people risking the dangerous journey to a new life.

The European Union has no borders. They freely take in millions of people who are fleeing poverty and war. As rich former colonizers, we all have an obligation to lift up those who need our help. We owe it to them for all the violence and exploitation we inflicted upon them.

I'm a Dem and I don't want open borders. I also want English to be the common language. A lot of moderate liberals feel this way. No way I am voting for someone who wants to just let everyone in. I'll move to Canada before I'd vote for Trump.

Exactly. Even HRC openly acknowledged the mishandling of the crisis was the reason for the rise of anti-immigrant sentiment. Jackass Elders pushed a negative until there was anarchy in France and parts of England.

Bulgaria's religious leader sent a decree to all priests (I'm not sure what the Orthodox Christian Church calls their celebrants) NOT to worship with the Pope during a recent visit because of his world view. The news reports were a little less pc as I was.

Canada's immigration laws are pretty tight and I hope you also speak French. You might would be able financially qualify.
