You’re not half as clever as you think you are. |

+1 If as an adult, she likes using Molly as her name, she can. However, if she wants a name with a little more gravitas, she can go with her "real" name, and you can continue to call her by her nickname, assuming she's good with it. |

I know a Molly Elizabeth and a Mary Elizabeth who goes by Molly. Both fine. |
Millie is also like molly |

Like Molly do not like Mary. How about Molly Elizabeth. I like the rhythm.
Mom of Kate (not a nick name) |
It is rude. We know a young Molly and it’s a great name! |
Agree. I also have a grown up friend named Molly who has always loathed her name. Says it is a dog's name and not for a serious person. |
It flunks the test.
Supreme Court Justice Molly Lastname. President Molly Lastname. Nobel Prize Winner Molly Lastname. Nope, its a nickname for a child, not a given name. |
This is equitable if you are also just using a last name for the middle family name - but people only have one option for a last name so it isn't the same if you are choosing from a wide range of names. Men don't choose their last names I have never understood this argument either. It is an odd marriage dynamic to me. I get how it is a feminist thing to stand against the patriarchy and male domination and make sure men know that the woman has all the power when it comes to motherhood. It is just such an antagonistic position. |
FYI the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court named his DD Josie. Does that pass your test? You are super super awful. And President Molly is just fine. It’s a great nsme. |
It is not a dogs name - you are just ridiculous and your friend sounds needy. |
It’s a fine name, OP, ignore the immature haters. |
