Delay or cancellation tomorrow?

Inner SS street still not plowed..... School not seeming likely.

My street in Somerset is fine and most people had their staff shoveling early. Schools should be ok.

Rockville did our secondary roads at 11 am

I don't know what you're talking about. We haven't seen a plow yet today and the snow is still coming down. They're crazy if they try to open tomorrow.

MCPS only looks at whether buses will be able to run, so temp, ice and snow removal on bus routes. Only the third point will pose problems tomorrow.

Based on previous snow removal rates, I highly doubt schools will open tomorrow. They probably will on Tuesday.

MCPS also considers parking lot and sidewalk conditions at the schools, and sidewalks for the students in the "walk zone."

Left sledding at Frost Middle school at 2pm and it was untouched. Wootton had a snowball blower going.

If you’re in the city of Rockville, I believe they have their own snow removal system separate from the county. Streets within certain boundaries are always cleared much faster than in the rest of the county. I’m in Olney. My street hasn’t been plowed and the middle school in my neighborhood is completely snow covered

MCPS only has one snow day left in the calendar. knowing them, they're not going to cancel with the threat of snow next weekend, which will probably blow over like most "huge winter storms" and they will end up closing when they shouldn't have and opening when they shouldn't have.
PG county has already closed schools, but they have more snow days built into the year(and why do we only have 4 days of spring break anyway? it's not like we had that many snow days last year, if any).
Here in Rockville a snowplow came by earlier but it is still snowing and will probably be for a while. Roads are wet and have the potential to freeze and become black ice. Who knows what will happen with school, though.
My bets are that MCPS will remain open. At most, there'll be a delay.
I'm not crazy. I've just lived here long enough to know how they handle these things.

My neighborhood near WWHS hasn’t seen a plow yet. 3:35 pm. Roads are slushy.

Rockville is great for snow removal. My tiny street is black and has been since late morning.

I predict closed. My street and the main street in my neighborhood has not been done at all and there is quite a bit of snow. Upper MoCo.
