This needs to be broadcast on all publicly available channels. There is so much information on how he groomed these girls and then controlled the older women.

How do we start to do this? I ask as a black woman—how do we change the station of black women in our society?

We have a 7yo. A lot of our educational and enrichment choices have been made with a goal of insulating and preparing her for a lot of societal dangers. I know we can’t shelter her completely, though.

You have Jay Z, Questlove, and other celebs refusing to participate. Not even Celine "I'm your angel" Dion. Only John Legend stepped up. The women who came forward in recent years were of age. The women at the houses in GA and Chicago are of age. Police have been to both residences and gave an all clear. He called himself the black Hugh Hefner, and right now that's what he's looking like. How do you get him?

Good for John Legend for stepping up!

There are women on the show that were not of age when they were with him. I believe they said that IL age of consent was 17, and episode 5(?) profiles a 14 yo that met him at his trial. He had sex with her when she was 16.

It’s infuritaing that he wasn’t convicted with the video but when the girl in the video denied it was her, it’s like all the eye witnesses didn’t matter to the jury.

The issue was that the girls own parents were claiming it wasn’t them in the videos.

I don’t know how her parents (and Aaliyah’s parents) can look themselves in the mirror every day.

I think the parents of the girl in the video were paid off. Sparkle said it was clearly R. Kelly and her niece. He is just disgusting.

If you have the lifetime app you might be able to watch. I don't have cable but I have Sling and was able to see it On Demand.

I don’t have a good answer for this. As a society in the US, Black women are viewed as objects. For starters there needs to be a mass rebellion by famous people to stop the way black women are portrayed in the music industry. I know there have been fits and starts over time, but it’s 2019, get serious. And why did people like JayZ, Gaga, Celine, and Dave Chappell refuse to participate in this story when they’ve already been publicly critical of Kelly? Why was it just John Legend and Charlagnme that we’re strong enough to do it?

There are non- profits supporting women around the world to build their own businesses as its demonstrated that if women are supported, the village/family overall does better. Where is that same approach here? Many of these are US based non-profits.

And where we can show strong successful black women as role models, why aren’t we? I know Alyssa Milano was assaulted and that she is the one that revved up the #metoo movement on Twitter. But what about the women that started #muterkelly, in a documentary about him, and how black women are treated, why weren’t those women doing the PSA instead of Alyssa?

I think this is almost unquestionable. Especially with all of the other court cases that ended in settlements and the one woman (I forget her name) that broke her NDA to tell her story.

Jerhonda Pace?
What happens next, is he going to be held accountable for all the abuse he's committed?

Yes, that was her. I’m honestly not sure how he will be held accountable. Since his trial he must have figured out how to be more sneaky about the underage girls. Most of the recent complaints are related to treatment of over 18-yos. The ones that are referred to as being part of his cult and are sex slaves. Since these women are not complaining, and in fact speaking publicly that they are fine, what charges can be brought against him? He’s a master manipulator.

I hope the herpes lawsuit drags on for a long time to keep his name in the news. TMZ can do a great public service by continuously talking about it.

We shall see. The parents of one girl have been in and out of the news for the past couple of years. They introduced their daughter to him and then said she was being held against her will along with other women. They look crazy introducing their daughter to him given his history and she said she is not being held against her will. The police checked it out and no charges. She is of age. The girl who met him during his trial was on The Real last year telling her story. If she was underage when they were together, it is a he said she said situation. She said she knew the story, but was such a fan and he contacted her after the trial. That is where he can dispute when contact took place. The ex-girlfriend in Texas described humiliating situations, but she was of age and a consenting adult. People/fans attack her as being disgruntled at being put out the house and being old enough to know better. Sparkle tried to get justice for her niece, but he was acquitted when the jury did not buy the story. He was not guilty on 21 counts. Double jeopardy in that situation. He married Aaliyah when she was underage, but the law excuses consentual things that go on in a marriage and she did not speak against him while she was alive, at least not publicly. We all know her mother is disputing the account in the documentary. Bill Cosby admitted to drugging women in a deposition, so jury could believe he also drugged Constand (sp?). There does not appear to be this sort of evidence in the R Kelly situation. Were there similar admissions with prior settlements? If so, did his lawyers have agreements in writing unlike Bill Cosby? That is how Cosby's deposition was included. The prosecutor did not have to honor a verbal agreement not to sue.

His ex-wife speaking out now is interesting. She should have gathered evidence, but it doesn't look like she did. We shall see.

Do you think she really knew what was going on? It seems that his handlers really did a good job of keeping the other girl’s separated from Andrea. Also, if she had known anything I would think her divorce settlement would have been better since she would have used that as leverage.
