It was rewritten as a tribute for Obama by R. Kelly from another artist, Osmosis Jones. But I don't know that Obama ever used it for any events. There were lots of artists who did similar. I can imagine that R. Kelly wanted to because of Obama, for obvious reasons. But it doesn't serve as evidence of their apparently non-existent friendship.

I have only watched the first episode of this series, so I don't yet know the extent of what R Kelly is being accused of, but I'm curious - when the posters here are referring to him as a rapist, has he actually been accused of forcing girls to have sex with them against their will, or is it statutory rape, where the girls gave consent, but the law does not consider them capable of consenting?

+1. Teenagers have hormones that make them sexual, but they are not mature enough to handle a grown man. And children, especially kids from rough upbringings, crave positive adult attention. You take a girl from a difficult home environment and suggest to her that sex can make her get adult male attention (which is severely lacking in many poor homes, which tend to be headed by a single parent) and they will do it. You don't have any concept of the voids created by difficult childhoods-- or you wouldn't be saying it. It's like saying a starving prostitute is doing it because she *wants* to. It is exploitation of our most vulnerable population and your lack of empathy is sick, sick, sick. Please reflect on why it is wrong to exploit vulnerable teen girls.

I hear what you're saying, but I think the extent of this is sometimes exaggerated. When I was 16, I had a 20 year old boyfriend. By today's standards, he would be labeled a "child rapist" and that is just preposterous in my mind. I think he was a great guy and that there was nothing damaging and unhealthy about the relationship at all. And no, I was not in anyway from a rough background or craving adult attention.

It's interesting that you keep making these assertions of connection but haven't produced any proof at all. You just want to tar the Obamas and Oprah/Gayle because of the Chicago connection.
