They taking into consideration both parents income. Father is not planning to contribute.

If it's truly her dream school consider this. Loans aren't the worst thing in the world

Parents have to co-sign after 5k.

You never know until you call and that's pretty much the only option at this point besides loans.

They can't make him pay.

That's not school's problem. There are literally thousands of kids willing to take OP's kid's spot and PAY.

I'm 15:26 and I'm not the OP, just to clarify

And if the school can't or won't come up with enough additional financial aid, she needs to know that she can't attend because her father won't pay.

Honestly I'd have your daughter call herself, or at least call the FA office together.

Of course the school can't, but OP can explain to FA that he's not going to contribute and see if they adjust the package. If they don't, they haven't lost anything. What's the harm in trying?

OP, is your soon to be ex-husband refusing to pay? Does your daughter know? Can you guilt him into paying?
Anonymous
Leave it up to your DD -- if she wants to go to the school, she takes out loans. Tons of people have loans.

As others have said, why are loans not an option? Yes, you'll have to cosign and go the PLUS loan route. Lots of people do that to go to their dream school.

OP - CALL THE SCHOOL, NOW. You are not the first in this position. Period. No excuse. CALL THE SCHOOL.

There are some "crazy" people out there who don't think an ivy league education is worth the price. Father may feel this way too.
