How do people who that don't eat carbs find happiness...

Yes, this! As long as you get your protein, it doesn't matter where the rest of the cals come from. Just get enough fat for healthy skin, nails, etc. And stay within a certain calorie limit to lose. Some people do better with low fat, some with high fat. Some somewhere in the middle. Also depends on your hormones - I need more fat before that time of month.

Quite easily actually,

A typical meal is a serving of really fatty cut of meat with leafy veges like collard greens, spinach, or kale.

If I eat dessert, it's usually something I make - and I minimize sugar and maximize the fat content.
Or I go the easy route and get full fat yogurt with a little bit of fruit.

If I eat carby veges, it's usually a very small serving of sweet potato with butter.

I don't miss eating low quality bread, pastas, and desserts.

oh and p.s. one of my go to meals is home made bolognese.

I eat it with "zucchini pasta" which is basically zucchini spiralized and sauteed in butter.

Cut out the grains and sugar. Eat all the carbs you want that fall outside those categories.

Sorry but the JAMA article and study was not low fat vs low carb. In both groups, participants cut out refined sugar, white flour, highly processed carbs. Ine group did not restrictions other carbs, though, but restricted fat; the other group did not restrictions fat but somewhat more restricted carbs. The results were the same. The take away for me is eat whole foods, lots of plants, little sugars and don't be scared of fat.

Really? You would eat (white) potatoes in preference to whole grain bread? I wouldn't - AFAIK, white starch is bad, fiber is good (lots of studies on fiber being good in lots of ways)

And you can't really eat ALL the carbs you want (in a WW style calorie control diet) unless you are doing massive exercise.

I don't do low-carb or no-carb but I do make a conscious effort to only eat the carbs that are really worth it. So if the bread at a restaurant isn't amazing, I'm not bothering with it. I won't order pasta unless it's really good pasta. Rice is boring, so I try to go easy on it. Basically, each meal for me is a mix of protein, some sort of grain and veggies, and no one thing is huge. If you're portion controlled and you're exercising, I don't see a reason to give up carbs.

I am 7weeks into keto, down 20 lb no exercise.
I don’t miss the carbs at all. I eat fat now and food tastes so much better. Mayo, blue cheese dressing, cheese, charcuterie, protein, avocados, nuts and I get lots of green veggies. My salads never tasted so good bc I put bacon and avocado!

I may never go back to carbs, just add berries when I lose the next 40 lbs. I wil cheat here and there, just get back to keto. I feel great too. I think this is the eating style my body likes, no more digestion and blood sugar issues.
