But...the house isn't priced right. It's 200k over comparably sized homes. Some of those homes even have an extra 1,000 sqft. Don't know what the seller is thinking. And an oil leak is a pretty big deal. |
Are you familiar with the comps in that area? Houses in Mantua do sell for $50k to $100k over similar homes nearby. This house would probably do better if it was priced at $799k though. |

This house just one street east sold for $825,000 in the spring.

That City paper article is nuts! I wonder how many houses in the neighborhood are still owned by Texaco. I have to think most buyers are just ignorant.
Is a toxic waste site like this something realtors must disclose? |
Seems much bigger and nicer than the one OP is looking at. |
Property ownership is public record, so this is very easy to answer. It looks like there are 24 houses on Tovito Drive and 3 houses on Convento Terrace that are owned by Texaco. |
Um yeah. This has to be disclosed to buyers, right? |
| Well that article scared the f outta me. Why are ppl paying almost $1mil to live in this area?! |
Because the article is over 20 years old? |
And just because it's been 20 years the soil is not longer contaminated? I don't think so. |
| wow unbelievable people still live in mantua consider all the potential risk to cancer, birth defects etc. |
So they rent them out to unsuspecting tenants? |
does it? I can't imagine realtors and homeowners voluntarily disclosing. Is it required, does anyone know? |
they make their employees live there, or anyone whos not afraid of the health risk because the rent is only $700 a month |
??? this. Are they empty? |
