I hate dog people.

But...why? Why would you do this?

It is "allowed" to burp loudly in restaurants, but it is irksome to other people, and crass. So...do you do that too?

The handler should give the dog breaks outside since children can be a handful.

No parent should have to leave the library over a dog!

Go away. A dog barked. Get over it. Your kid was probably being a brat. I'm sure they've never had a scream, yell, or squeal in public, right?

The vast majority of dog owners do not do the things describes. And if you don't like dogs at a restaurant, don't go to that restaurant. I don't like screaming kids, so I don't go to Chuck E. Cheese. Get it, OP?

Um, the PP was talking about a LIBRARY, not a restaurant. The dog she encountered was in a library. Read more carefully next time.

I saw your other post on the dog in the library, PP, and I am with you on that one. The dog owner in the library was extremely unreasonable, and you should be able to take your kid to a public library with the expectation that you will not be worried by a dog. You should not have to avoid libraries just because you don't want a dog barking at your baby.

Yeah, and OP was talking about dogs at restaurants. See how this reading carefully thing works? If you spend so much time in a library you should be able to do it by now.

No, sweetie. No. The poster I quoted, and to whom I was responding, had likewise quoted and responded to a poster who was discussing a dog in a library. Close reading

And we hate people who don't like dogs because they are generally uptight, narrow-minded, hypocritical, self-absorbed, anal-retentive people with bratty kids...much like OP.

Yes. But also smarter. Cat people are smarter in general.

I do not let her jump on people. I let her poop on any grass she wants because once she squats, it's just going to come out. I can't yell "Squeeze it in!" and expect her to listen. But I do bag her poop.

I only take her to restaurants if it's an outdoor cafe. I rarely take her to stores - two or three times in eight years? She is never off-leash outside unless it's a fenced yard.

You are just as rude as the people describes in OP

-dog owner and lover

You do realize that rabbits/fox/deer/mice/woodland creatures of all types crap on everyone's lawn and it doesn't get picked up, right? They are picking up the poop, woodland creatures leave it there for you to step in. Which is worse?

I like dogs, but do not own one.

Eh. I actually know quite a few wonderful people who are smart and loving and kind who really detest most animals kept indoors (it's not just dogs). I feel similarly. I don't really mind them, I get why people love having pets, if I am friends with you, I'll pet your dog or you cat. I'll be sad with you when your pet dies. I'll be worried with you when it's hurt or sick. But overall, I feel a much stronger connection to people. Relationships with people fill me up and fulfill me in a way an animal never could. I also realize there is not one right way to live.

So it's great people love dogs and find relationships with them worthwhile. I do not feel this way. But I won't resort to name calling over it.

I don't really care for dogs but feel like I have to pretend that I do. I respect that people truly love their pets but I honestly don't understand it. But I absolutely cannot stand seeing any animal hurt of abused. I am just not a "dog person" or even a "pet person".

That said, I loathe dog owners who do not pick up after their dog or allow their dog off the leash in public spaces.

Yes, but most dogs have a tell walk right before (plus you can tell before that because their glands swell up in preparation), it doesn't happen all of a sudden- pay more attention. Plus, they tend to be creatures of habit and have areas where they prefer to poop- again be aware. I walk my dog on the parking (area between the sidewalk and street) until she poops. (We also try to have be in "no man's land" at the time too), ONLY then can she walk or sniff in people's yards on the other side.

Dog lover who wishes the bad eggs would clean up their act.

Also a dog lover, and no. Do not let your dog walk in other people's yards. Don't walk there yourself, don't let your dog do it.

Except those bratty children will one day be paying into social security so that you can retire. The dog is only a drain on resources. And also never learns to deal with it's own poop.
