Letting their dogs crap wherever and not cleaning up after them even though our neighborhood has little stations specifically for this purpose.
Bringing their dogs into stores where it is completely inappropriate. The only store you should bring your dog into is a pet store.
Bringing their dogs into restaurants. I know certain restaurants allow it but I think it is gross.
Letting their dogs run and jump on whoever without apology. If my child jumps on you I'm going to apologize.
Having their dogs unleashed around play equipment at the playground. No. some kids are afraid of dogs. I don't bring my child to the dog park.

I'm obviously not talking about service dogs. I'm talking about people's pets. UGH!
.

The same applies to parents that allow their kids to do all of the above!

........nope. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, are ya?

I like dogs and have owned dogs but the vast majority of dog owners dog owners are irresponsible, ignorant and selfish.
Every year people are bitten sometime tragically killed by someone else’s dog and the owners reply! (oh but she was a lovely dog)
Abandoned dogs that are now difficult to be rehome because they haven’t been trained.
I’ve got a neighbour who says he’s a dog lover but leaves his dog alone all day I have to listen to it barking until he comes home and only when he’s had enough tells it to shut up.
You can do what you want with your life but it’s your dog your responsibility I don’t want to live my life around it.
Sometimes all I want is some peace and quiet but where ever you go their will be an owner there with their dog barking, running after you it can be intimidating, pissing on your possessions, not to mention dog excrement that can cause blindness, then they complain when theiy are banned from certain areas.
People will just walk past a homeless person without a thought but put a dog next to him and people pay attention! Now that’s what’s wrong with people!

This says a lot about who you are. To connect with a dog, actually animals in general, defines people with great empathy.

Generally true for me, as well.

+1. She brings us a lot of joy, and is well loved and taken care of. But she's an ANIMAL. She absolutely does not come to the store with us, and it's impossible to fathom how I would justify bringing her into one. She is nothing like my children, not even within view of the same realm as them, and no dog ever could be

My dog goes into the pet store (grooming) and the vet. That's it. I'm not sure why they need to be anywhere else.

But...why? Why would you do this?

It is "allowed" to burp loudly in restaurants, but it is irksome to other people, and crass. So...do you do that too?

Is that any different than many children in restaurants?

Bulldog/Home Depot poster here: The only difference is behavior, IMO. I have yet to see a dog in any store like Home Depot behave worse than many kids behave in public.

+1
My dog loves to go to Home Depot with me and he is well behaved. The people who work there have always been very nice to him sometimes offering him dog treats. I keep him right next to me so he doesn't bother any other customers.

Previous poster above, I forgot to mention the only two stores I take him to are the pet store and home depot. Although dogs are allowed at stores like Homegoods and several other places, I don't feel it's an appropriate setting. Often when I take my dog to home depot I'm just in their outdoor garden section.

I live in a building filled with dogs, half the residents let the dogs pee on the sidewalk right outside. WHY? The whole area reeks. (puke)

DP. Well, I love my cats. I hate dogs. I don't begrudge people who do so I don't hate them like OP says. I do resent that dog people treat their animals as children sometimes and also want to bring them into inappropriate spaces. For example, if my workplace were to become dog-friendly, I would quit. I have a child with SN who is terrified of dogs - I don't want one walking up to him in a grocery store.

You forgot to mention the people bringing their dogs all the way to the school’s door every single day. Just yesterday, I saw a dog sniffing the private parts of a lady waiting for her kids.

Dogs are NOT allowed at Homegoods. Read the dang door signs.

That does not mean that idiot dog owners don't bring them i to Homegoods. Selfish, inconsiderate dog owners are like that.

Short leash your disgusting dog so he does not stick his nose into someone else's private parts.

I like dogs but I can't understand how people let a dog lick them in the face. Dogs sniff other dogs butts and sniff poop so I always think YUCK when I see people crouch down to let the dogs lick them on the face.

Whenever a dog licks my hand I always wash them as soon as I can.

Short leash and keep them away from school grounds.
