I don't hate dogs-just the owners who constantly act like rules do not apply to them and everyone does/should love their dog as much as they do.
Letting their dogs crap wherever and not cleaning up after them even though our neighborhood has little stations specifically for this purpose. Bringing their dogs into stores where it is completely inappropriate. The only store you should bring your dog into is a pet store. Bringing their dogs into restaurants. I know certain restaurants allow it but I think it is gross. Letting their dogs run and jump on whoever without apology. If my child jumps on you I'm going to apologize. Having their dogs unleashed around play equipment at the playground. No. some kids are afraid of dogs. I don't bring my child to the dog park. I'm obviously not talking about service dogs. I'm talking about people's pets. UGH! |

Just like parents are allowed to have children without a diploma, pet owners are allowed to own pets without a diploma. And that has consequences. |
| Some people think dogs are children. |
| Really? I love dog people. |
|
Dog people are cool, and on average way friendlier and more interesting than non-dog people. Fact.
OP: in all sincerity, you should examine why you're so unhappy. Maybe get yourself a mutt to love on and run with! |

I am a dog person. Which means, I love the hell out of my dog and often would rather spend time with her than most people. I have taken time off from work to spend the day with her.
I do not let her jump on people. I let her poop on any grass she wants because once she squats, it's just going to come out. I can't yell "Squeeze it in!" and expect her to listen. But I do bag her poop. I only take her to restaurants if it's an outdoor cafe. I rarely take her to stores - two or three times in eight years? She is never off-leash outside unless it's a fenced yard. |
| I don't like when people bring dogs to my home and especially when they let them on my furniture. I don't want an animal poking around the kids playroom, and the garbage can, and my bed. I have family who brings a dog for weekend visits. They can't afford doggy day care or whatever, and friends are not always available to watch it, so they bring it along. Drives me crazy. |
You are just as rude as the people describes in OP -dog owner and lover |
| The more people I meet, the more I love my dog!! |
What a waste of energy/life to feel this strongly about such a minor thing. |
I'm a dog owner and I've never done any of the above. I think what you're describing is not the majority of dog owners. It's inconsiderate people, period. If these people you're describing did not own dogs, they'd find other ways to be inconsiderate. Oh, and the restaurant thing: I moved here from a very dog-friendly city out West where many places--even nice restaurants--had outdoor seating, and many people would bring dogs. Even large dogs. Don't ever move West, OP. |

I am a dog (and cat) person.
I don't do any of the things OP lists. |
I love dogs. I have 3 of them myself. And I don't care for any of the things that you've listed, either. |
| I hate rude dog owners, but, I am sorry, your neighborhood has " stations" fir digs to poop? Wth? How does this work? Dogs have to poop, when they have to poop. |
| I don't like people who don't like dogs. |
