| Sounds like you are just lazy. |
| work out at lunch or right before you drive home. the commute would be shorter. |
| You get up at 5:30am, and you don't waste 2 hrs from 10-midnight on Netflix. |
| gyms are open at 5. |
|
Only take a 30 minute lunch and take a walk for the other 30 minutes.
Make a meal plan for the week and do one weekly grocery shopping trip instead of each night. Join a gym near your office and go directly after work. Do meal prep the night before. I'll usually prep my lunch the night before and at least part of the dinner I'm cooking the next night. If you're exhausted now, just wait until you throw a spouse and kid into that mix. |
|
I walk about a mile to grab a sandwich and another mile to walk back to my office. That only take 40-45 minutes, and 15-20 minutes is plenty of time to eat a sandwich.
Every bit of sneaking in some exercise helps. |

Why is everyone saying the commute is long? My you guys are lucky. I commute from Vienna and it's easily 1 hr.
Spouse bought a stationary bike and uses it 15 min on nights he has tome. I am hoping to do a home dvd workout of 30 min few times a week but realize it is not a high priority for me, I value downtime too much. Op, from your schedule you value downtime more than exercise time. If you really wanted to squeeze in exercise, you can do the NYT 7 minute workout. |
| What's going on at 6-630? |

You left out coming home and driving kids around to evening practices and homework duty. Sigh.
Some have it even worse. |
Also, because of this (even more limited time than u)I can make dinner in 20 min or less. Broil salmon 15-20 min with asparagus on lower rack. Done. No time for comfy--that's in bed with a book at 10:45pm. I'm not great at early morning so I workout on my lunch break. Pre-kids I headed straight to the gym from work (fueled with a snack). BONUS: you miss evening rush hour if u find a place to workout near your office and drive home later. |
| Doesn't look like you have children. Would your commute be shorter if you left for work earlier? If so, find a gym near work, drive in earlier and work out before work. Or if your commute would be better if you left work later, work out after work and then drive home. |
| That commute sounds like a i live in haymarket/bristow/Gainesville commute. These people generally act like they are better than most yet they just live on a hamster wheel hahaha FOOLS |
| Your commute sucks and is sedentary. Could you walk and take public transport instead? |
|
I work 8:30-5. I take a short lunch usually at desk. I also have a 10 min commute and getting groceries on my way home (not everyday) takes me 20 min because I meal plan and make a lot of similar things every week (salmon and green beans or broccoli, roast chicken and zucchini etc).
I have a baby but will start back working out in a couple weeks when I'm done pumping during the day. As everyone says it's mostly the commute for you and her one hour in the am. It takes me 15 min to get out the door after I've fed the baby in the am. I shower and do hair at night, morning is for teeth, face and a tiny bit of makeup. I eat my yogurt at my desk with my morning emails and plan for the day. |
| I bike commute. Not everyday but can fit in 4-6 hours a week. |
