He's been doing this crap the while time. Why would he stop now? Sadly, people don't seem to care. |
+1. His supporters have cognetive dissonance like I've never seen. They don't care at all about the constant lying. The man has no relation to the truth. |
Once the dates are sorted out .... maybe even before the issue is resolved look for the Trump campaign to insist that Gary Johnson and Jill Stein to be included in the debate.
He will insist on it and refuse to participate without that happening and Johnson as well as Stein will support him for obvious reasons leaving Clinton out in the cold. The advantages for Trump: he will appear a lot more inclusive than Clinton and will also have the debate time divided up between four candidates instead of two leaving him with less time to have to answer questions. Stein will draw from Clinton's support and Johnson will likely draw from both sides. Yes, I know that there is a rule about needing 15% in the polls before being allowed to take part. Trump will insist that the rule is out of date and needs to be changed. |
I think what this shows is that the time is right to develop technology that would allow someone to record the debates one one channel to watch later, while they simultaneously watch football on another channel.
Oh wait... Biggest non-issue ever in the age of TiVo. Spoiler alert: Trump is going to sound about as smart and substantive as Sarah Palin did during her debate (if he is very, very lucky). And use words like "lyin" "cheatin" and "crooked" a lot. And assure you that "it will be GREAT" and "YUGE" without telling us how that will happen. But we will love to watch him fall flat on his face/ tear into Hillary, depending on our political affiliation. And Hillary will come across as wonky, collected and supremely prepared and bore us to death with technical policy plans. And we will be glad someone so competent is running/ launch 4 different congressional committee investigations into whether the fact she is wearing a red pant suit means that she is secretly a communist, depending on our political affiliation. So now you don't even have to TiVo it. |
I think this is true. There will always be an issue and drama. His nightmare is being head to head with Hillary Clinton. I'm sure her nightmare is being head to head with Donald Trump, but their reactions are telling. He will be evasive, make excuses, throw a tantrum. She will prepare and push forward. |
I voted for Bernie, but will agree that Hillary is great in debates. She often made me lean toward her while I watched (and I will be voting for her in November). |
I think Trump is scared of Hillary and scared of losing in public. |
You lost me at "Yom Kipper". |
You keep saying. You may have noticed: no one cares but you. |
Hillary supporters obviously don't care about constant lying either. No matter what we are going to be stuck with a very dishonest president. |
I would really like to hear what Trump thinks about Zika |
Hillary doesn't lie at a rate abnormal to humans. Donald lies like most of us breathe. Witness "the NFL sent me a letter." No, they didn't. He didn't even have to tell the lie, he just told it because he wants it to be the truth. You Trump supporters are some other thing. |
Fair point. But iPhone & autocorrect are lethal in combination. On substance: http://money.cnn.com/2016/07/30/media/donald-trump-presidential-debates-schedule/ http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/commission-plans-presidential-debates-knocks-trump-article-1.2733217 4 debates. Different nights of the week. Religious and federal holidays. Military & early voters (debates not too early & not too late). Debates spaced out. Somethings gotta give. And BTW-- the debate schedule was announced in September 2015. The football schedule? April 2016. Seems like the NFL could have (gasp) chosen not to schedule key games the same night (and they did-- one of the "games" at issue is Atlanta vs New Orleans. Get back to me when the Deep South is in play in a presidential election). |
I think this is fine, if Donald wants to change the days. I want as many people to see these debates as possible. |
I know facts don't matter to Trump supporters, but it's patently false to say that Hillary and Trump lie at the same rate. PolitiFact rates the truthfulness of statements by each candidate. Trump lies at a far, far higher rate: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2016/mar/15/presidential-scorecards-so-far-march-15-2016/ |
