+1 Dry & cakey. They shouldn't even be called donuts. |
They are cake donuts. They are exactly what a cake donut is suppose to be. |
But they are extra bland and get soggy from random toppings. Really nothing redeeming about them. |

Sugar Shack made this top donuts in the US list: http://www.timeout.com/usa/restaurants/best-donut-shops-in-america
(Of course, it's the RVA flagship, and I can't vouch for the Alex. location.) I took Sugar Shack, Dunkin' and Krispy Kreme to a staff meeting yesterday, and the SS were gone first, FWIW. |
Too funny! To me, duck donuts are cloyingly sweet and Astro are tasty -- well, I only eat about a quarter of an Astro so maybe that's why they aren't too sweet for me. |
Their appeal is similar to Krispy Kreme, in that a hot and fresh one is hands down amazing. No one likes a stale donut, and I am also not a fan of the cake donut, but a fresh Duck Donut is a different story. Sadly, I was hoping Federal donuts was going to open here but it looks like that never materialized- if you are in Philly go there, amazing fried chicken and donut!! |
| Donuts are the new cupcake. |
| I thought only kids eat donuts. I try to be health conscious and so I avoid them at all costs! |

Wow. Someone needs to calm down and grow up! |
Agreed. Both posts are ridiculous. |
| Hey, donut conversation is serious business, even for us lean and healthy folks. |
