Dry & cakey. They shouldn't even be called donuts.

They are cake donuts. They are exactly what a cake donut is suppose to be.

But they are extra bland and get soggy from random toppings. Really nothing redeeming about them.

Plus, it gives me nightmares about OBX.

LOL. So true. And since I thought they were like Krispy Kreme, I tried them very fresh - freshly made in the shop in Duck, NC - and they were still just blah. A HUGE letdown since I love donuts.

No thank you, they can keep them.

Hmm, I really like them, even room temperature the next day.

Donut King in Kensington is my favorite so far. Their "honey dip" tastes like my memories of Montgomery Donuts' plain glazed donuts. Good cake donuts also.

Texas Donuts in Centerville.

Blondie's from Baltimore. They deliver. Amazing. Each one is a pastry creation. You can also get delivery from Moco Delivery from Beilers donuts. Getting donuts delivered on Saturday am is the height of luxury. I don't need a fancy purse.

There used to be a little bakery by the bridge entering Chincoteague Island. Their donuts were the bomb. I don't know if they're still there.

I've had doughnuts at an Amish market and some of them are really good.

Yes, not sure how these weren’t mentioned until page 5 of the comments!

Good dough donuts in Ballston.

Has any one tried Krumpe's donuts in Hagerstown? It popped up on my newsfeed as the top donut shop in Maryland. And I am curious enough to make the drive but just haven't done it yet because they have weird hours at the shop.

They’re dense cakes. Not donuts.
