What was the “Deport Racism” group thinking?

It is similar to the "fuck the police" mantras. Lets just excuse lawlessness, for the sake of not offending any "brown" people. If anything, this video will have people voting for Trump more than ever. As much as I dislike him, if he is the frontrunner, I will. We do not need people breaking our laws, and then telling us to fuck off when we call them on it. It is obvious that their offspring are learning the same thing-anchor baby or not. And yes, they are nothing more than anchor babies.....not just the hispanic ones, but all of them.

I'm not judging anyone's parenting, pp. I clearly said that *I* would feel like I failed miserably, and I followed up with a sentence explaining why. And I stand by it. I have four kids, and if any of them grow up to be republicans then I will feel like I failed to instill the moral foundation that my husband and I hope they will have. Politics matter in a big way IMHO...ymmv. I work in the policy advocacy arena in a social justice type job. My kids know this. They understand what I do and how the government impacts my work. We talk about politics and social justice a lot. They ask a lot of questions, and we don't shy away from conversation. Sometimes we debate.

The comment about converting him to Team Hillary was nothing more than a flip comment. You do realize that (sadly) my 8 year old can't vote in the primary, right? And that's disappointing given that he's probably more politically astute than many adults.

PS - Child actors (and that's what they are) are sadly exploited every day. That's on their parents and the industry. Are you similarly concerned about all the kids on tv shows on disney and nickelodeon? What about the kids in the Bad News Bears who used potty mouth language? I don't feel badly for those kids--they'll probably use this as a launching pad into something else. Both are super cute and clearly have stage presence...as most child actors do.

OMG. Your racist rant and ridiculous attempt at justifying your hateful beliefs are precisely why I would feel like a failure if my kid grew up to be a republican. Thanks for your post--I can't wait to show it to my kids as it presents a great teachable moment.

Are you from the DC metro area? If so, what's your highest level of education? Just curious.

I don't tell my kids how to think--that would never work. Instead, I teach my kids and have equipped them to be politically astute, socially aware, etc.

That's really a shame. I am a strong conservative and I do not feel I failed because my son is supporting Sanders. I feel that he has done his research and supports him for reasons that make sense to him. I also know that as he grows up, that might change. Then again, it might not. I still won't feel like a failure - I will feel like a parent who has raised her kids to think for themselves.

I'm not sure you see your own bias. I'm not surprised by that. Liberals like yourself are some of the most extreme thinkers out there, while blaming conservatives like myself for being narrow-minded.

Making excuses for the behavior of Hollywood regarding the exploitation of kids? I take it you support Roman Polanski as well?

Just wondering if your third grader attends a school that is over 50% minority-in particular Hispanics. Move to Langley Park and get back to me. By the way-Ivy Educated with a PhD.

I definitely have a bias. I believe that politics matter and that the republicans on the hill are doing a great disservice to our country. Their actions (and inaction) harm people. There is a stark difference between liberals and conservatives today. As such, I feel it's critically important to educate my children about each party. Some people indoctrinate their children in a religion; I suppose I'm providing them with a strong political foundation in a way that some folks provide a religious foundation. (For the record, my kids are being raised with a religious foundation as well.)

I'm not a fan of Hollywood's exploitation of child actors. But as someone who is big on personal and parental responsibility, I place the blame squarely on the parents. I certainly wouldn't put my kids out there on a stage, but I won't throw rocks at the kids in this video. And your Roman Polanski line is just ridiculous.

Yes. Calling a kid an anchor baby is really, really vile.

These two sets of comments are an excellent illustration of the difference between Liberal (current US left, which believes that anyone who opposes them is some combination of mean, stupid, and evil) and liberal (in the traditional sense).

Oh, so it's okay to be a racist if you are an ivy educated white person living in Langley Park. Who knew?

Question: how does an ivy educated white person end up in Langley Park? Just curious what life choices prompted that. And wondering if your racism is a product of misplaced anger/disappointment?

For the record, I happen to like LP. Great restaurants.

My 8 year old understands why MoCo and PG have a thriving Latino population due to the politics and violence in Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras over the last two decades. Do you?

How is the expression 'anchor baby' to describe the mechanism by which citizenship is obtained by being born on American soil to non American parents in any way shape or form.offensive? Am anchor keeps a ship safely berthed. There is zero negative connotation to the term anchor. How is it any more offensive than green card holder?

Good thing there are "Safe Spaces" all over college campuses. Hopefully they will be able to integrate such spaces into all of society-we are going to need them.

Should we remove all analogies from.the English language? "me hungry" " you go". Grunt. Grunt. Once you have scrubbed everything, thats what will be left.
You should read The Wonderful O by James Thurber..Its very short. You could tackle it in an afternoon. Its about what happens when we start eliminating expression arbitrarily . In the case of Wonderful.O, all Os are removed because the pirate captain's mom fell through a porthole that reminds him of 'Os'. So you would be happy: "Anchor baby" would be out. So would "love" "valor" "courage " and "hope". Me go now.

If you lived in Langley Park I doubt you would say the population is "thriving". I'm surprised you set foot over there to get a taco. I live in Mclean-we are likely neighbors....and I am not white (how "racist" of you to assume that). You also make it seem like no one with an Ivy degree should live in LP-why? What is wrong with illegals and their anchor babies?
