I mean seriously... what the actual fuck?

I am dumbfounded that there actual exists such an evil little asshole out there and he somehow managed to get married.

I mean, if I was doing all the cooking & cleaning as well as putting up with his shitty personality I would expect a LOT more than 70% of the bills paid. More like %100.

Seriously, op:do not have kids with this man.

THIS is the problem.

Man here. Please, for the love of God, dont have kids with this guy. I can only imagine how increasingly depressing your posts will be....

FWIW, some men act like jerks when their wives are sick. They either minimize the illness, come up with competing maladies to "out-sick" the wife, or find some other way to act out. But it's not ok. And here your husband grudges you a birthday celebration? And instead of asking you how he can lighten your load and help take care of you, he throws hissy fits about leftovers and energy bars? Not cool.

Feel better, OP. And then think about whether you can do better for a husband than what you've currently got.

+1 to this whole comment.

I think I love both of these posters.

You should not be going to work or cooking when you have bronchitis/severe cough. I cannot only imagine how dreadful that must be for you, but given that it is contagious, arent you putting your DH and coworkers at risk?

Bacterial bronchitis is not contagious.

How often do you get sick, and how often does he get sick?

Why is that relevant?

Echoing PPs about going to a doctor. I had severe bronchitis and the steroids were amazing and fixed me up, along with antibiotics. I was using an inhaled steroid. Please take care if yourself.

And your husband's conduct is inexcusable. You deserve better.

OP, why in fuck did you agree to pay 30 percent of the bills and do all the cooking, cleaning and shopping? I don't get it. Also, if husband didn't like what you were cooking for dinner, why didn't you say "Ok, go get a pizza and while you're at it, swing by and pick up your energy bars while you're waiting for the pizza to get made". As it stands now, you threw out the food you didn't want to waste and got into an argument with your husband over a problem that is easily fixable. As for the birthday, he was obviously hurt at not being included. You ddid the chick equavilent of him saying "Jack and Bill and I are going to the Caps game, maybe you and I can celebrate Valentine's Day next week". Plan your girls only events for when your husband won't be hurt, surely there's a boy movie or activity he wants to do some of the time.

This.

He needs to apologize.

He pays about 70% of the bills. I pay the rest and do all the cleaning, cooking and shopping. This was our agreement and I am 100% fine with it (when I'm healthy). No kids.

Thank God for this.

It will make getting out so much easier when the asshattery escalates. Because that's a when, not an if.

My ex used to tell me I faked it every time I got sick. Told me I should take classes to better myself while on maternity leave since I had all the free time. I think that one of the worst character flaws is when a person kicks you while you are down. He is an ass.
