Eaton is WOTP too. |
Me too! |
Yes, I know that and never suggested it wasn't. I just was giving a description of where my DC will go for K without naming the school since people are often interested in that info, and I didn't want to name the school. |
I expect that there will be considerable movement at Shining Stars. |
Yes, it seems like they move every 2 weeks! |
Touché |
Bwahahahaha! |
+1 some classrooms dont even have permanent teachers yet |
Didn't we just learn that the correct word is "guide" in Montessori speak? Can't say "teacher" at Montessori. And kids don't "play" they "do work". Have fun. |
Do you mean like attend the first few days at one school and then leave for another? Is this possible under the myschool enrollment plans, or do some charters not use that universal enrollment form? |
I'm not sure they would necessarily win. Depends on the circumstances as the school has a duty to mitigate. And if the school fills the slot, then the damages are only the gap in tuition and cost of recruiting a new student. Not a whole year of tuition. I think it's more of a threat than anything. Has a DCJCC parent actually written a check for the full year (or continued to pay monthly) after their child has gone elsewhere? Has the DCJCC actually gone to court to force a parent to pay up? |
Technically it's not allowed, but I doubt there will be an audit right away to see who is holding multiple spots. I know a bunch of people who were notified about new spots last week and held onto both until school started this week and they made up their minds. |
There was a girl in our son's class this year who got into a DCPS after the year started. They couldn't fill her spot. I believe her parents paid out the year b/c she was in the class on DCPS days off and for the entire summer. I didn't ask her parents though so they might have come up with some other arrangement. |
Always an interesting part of the year.... |
I just released a Creative Minds PS3 slot in a very tough decision. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the school, the teachers, and the families we have met, but we received a last minute offer from a school that felt like a better fit.
Good luck on a great year! |
