+1. Totally agree on all points. |

He is right. That's a ridiculous excuse.
|
| I hope your building never catches on fire before you've had your shower that day....... |
| Your boss is right. Also, he/She is now looking, and will find, a legitimate reason to let you go. Start looking for a new job because you will be let go within six months. |
| I would have fired you on the spot. Not coming into work because your water was cut off makes me think that there are deeper psychological issues at work, and you are likely to be a liability. I don't know which is worse - the fact that you would do this, or the fact that you would tell your boss the truth about it. |
| Next time call in sick. Nobody needs to know why you aren't at work because as you can see, the truth and being direct with your boss didn't work. |
| Can you all give the ageism a rest? Most of us Millennials manage to get ourselves showered, dressed, and off to work - or, failing a shower one day, still presentable and off to work - regularly. |
| I don't think I would have been quite so honest with your boss. Kind of a TMI moment, if you ask me.... |
| Nope, not a reasonable excuse. Your lack of water at home one day is not your employer's problem, it's your problem. You do sound young and entitled. |
Really. I skip a shower about twice a week just becuase I have no time. It sucks, but that is life. |
This is a joke? How old are you??? |
|
OP, are these you too?

|
I think it's a lame reason, even though I'm anal about showering every day.
HOWEVER, it is your (presumably) PTO to use. So if thats how you want to allocate it, and it doesnt impact any projects: who cares? |
These are a hoot. Please keep 'em coming, OP. |
Oops, missed one! http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/386813.page |
