Boss Mad At Me For Not Coming In To Work Yesterday...Is He Right Or Am I?? You Decide...............

Dumb reason and even DUMBER Fir telling your boss.
Just call in sick.

I am a principal of an elementary school, so I am the "boss" to over 50 teachers. If you were a teacher in my school and called me to say that you were not coming in to teach because you couldn't take a shower, we would have a serious conversation about your professionalism and commitment to the job when you returned the next day.

By the way, OP, your writing style is very distinctive (and annoying) and you have never posted anything where I haven't thought "wow, OP is very wrong and a bit dumb"

Yes, I do have a distinctive writing style but most people compliment me on it because they say it is easy to read since I space everything out and I can actually use correct grammar and punctuation.

They also like that I do not use run on sentences and use hash-tags or LOL-type add'ons to my posts.

You should look at your first sentence before you go bragging about the lack of run on sentences. Hilarious.

You are an inflexible idiot. I would try to find a reason to fire any employee who was that inflexible.

Also, you misused since in this post and used emoticons in your first one. I don't think you have a very good sense of self.

Are you for real? Is this post even real? Of course, your boss was right!

Let me guess, OP, you're part of the entitled generation currently in their 20s/early30s.

I wish I were your boss. You'd be showering this morning in preparation for interviewing for a new job.

This has to be a joke. That is not a good reason for not going to work. You're lucky you didn't get fired.
Anonymous
You should have just said that you weren't feeling well. Now your boss thinks that you are a vain little princess.
Anonymous
OP - how old are you?? No seriously, I want to know.
You're either childless or a millennial.

Your "lack of shower" excuse is pretty pitiful. I would be embarrassed to admit that to my boss.

Time to update your resume and start networking.

It's a terrible enough excuse that your boss is pissed despite the fact that you're usually very reliable and don't call in sick.
You just screwed up your hard-earned credibility.
Anonymous
You should take a shower in a public restroom.

+1

I am a teacher. Twice, I've been in the same situation in my apartment building. I showered at school instead. The building is unlocked at 6:30 so I got there then and was out of the shower and fully addressed before students started arriving.

Not being able to shower is not an excuse for skipping work.

OP, I hope that you at least did something fun with your day of playing hooky.

I am also curious about the OP's age.
