The plaintiff in the Newmyer may or may not be using a PR firm, but SIDWELL could certainly use a good PR firm. In the current circumstances, the first thing a good PR team might tell SIDWELL to do is to lighten up on the emphasis on “hands on” in describing the Sidwell experience. I swear that I’m not making up these examples from the SIDWELL website:


CAMP: morning will consist of hands-on work with the youngest campers

Sidwell Summer trips: promote learning outside of the traditional classroom through hands-on experiences

6th-8th grade camp: Each of these teachers is also a parent that recognizes the importance of hands-on, active learning for the summer months

SCIENCE: Children build models, play games and gain understanding through "hands on" work
