sorry but i am. what, all sidwell parents are supposed to be happy with how this mess was handled? the more transparency the better, maybe will clean the place up enough so our DCs won't have to face this kind of garbage |
| Not sure what you would have wanted the school to do differently. As the court case suggested, the student was not in the care of the doctor and they fired him anyhow. |
Lack of transparency, the catch-all and useless comment from someone who doesn't understand either the legal or privacy dynamics of a situation. School life of broader community...effected nada. The only thing effected was your prurient interests. |
haha, the response of a troll. anyway, enough said on this case |
|
My guess is that every school has something disturbing going on that is easily 'hidden' from parents until it forces its way 'out' and then parents know.
Sidwell is a great school. #$%@ happens everywhere. Beauvoir, Potomac, Holton, etc...all have had their share of scandals...and yet they have stacks of applications from parents dying to get their children in. Go figure. |
I'm not sure any of this had much to do with Sidwell anyway. Basically it's just a rich guy who was pissed his ex-wife was dating someone new, so he tried to nuke everyone involved out of spite. Sidwell fired the psychologist because he was misusing his school email account for personal purposes (which frankly seems kind of harsh). Seems to me like all the bad publicity for Sidwell was just collateral damage resulting from the rich guy's personal vendetta against his ex-wife and her boyfriend. Glad to read the psychologist is counter-suing the rich guy, so he can at least recover some of what the whole thing cost him. |
Well that's not biased at all. Maybe you and Jeff can get together and throw spitballs from your mothers' basements at the folks involved. |
Really? |
DCPS administrator, is that you again? Go away. You're not going to stop the private school train. Get your schools together and give parents a reason to want their children there. |
| Never a dull moment. |
If you don't want the spots, someone else will. |
Very true. When the protests were happening at Yale, DCUM College Discussion had its share of naysayers who predicted Yale was a bastion of spoIled protestors whose actions would cause applicants to look elsewhere. And like the PP stated, 99% were in agreement. Yale applicants and their parents were not dissuaded fromantic applying. Yale protests bother you? Go elsewhere, just an extra seat open for their DCs. |
| Keeping Sidwell Weird! Welcome to 2016-2017 |
| Whatever happened with the alleged rape/non-consensual sex investigation? |
| We have heard stories. That is why we wont apply there. |
