So funny to witness lack of outrage from Sidwell parents. Sidwell provides the culture the parents demand. Fondle my kid; F$ck my wife - but make sure my kid goes to HYP and whatever you do don't let the STA parents know what is going down here. I couldn't bear the embarrassment.

Well maybe 25% to HYP(and they would go no matter where they went), the rest go to other places and still run the risk of sexual assault.

The reference is that you will find unpleasant issues at all schools. Some more salacious then others. But all the schools survived and have gone on to continue to serve their students which is their primary purpose.

This has been a decades long problem at Sidwell and the creeps seem to embed themselves in areas where kids are most vulnerable camp counselor, school psychologist, basketball coach, sex ed instructor. I've heard stories from kids who attended Sidwell decades ago. Everything going on doesn't get reported in Washingtonian magazine or The City Paper, but it's hard to believe the administration is totally ignorant. Hell if Huntington the Sidwell e-mail system to tell a Sidwell parent about 8th grade girls being hit on by PE how could the school NOT know about that.

Are parents really THAT afraid of leaving the school?

I don't think it's so much afraid of leaving the school as it is time to do thorough internal checks. I have noticed a pattern with your post. And, yes, no one is that obtuse that the flavor of your writing is not recognized. Unsure about your vendetta but I guarantee no one is breaking down the door to exit the school because of DCUM rants. We have to clean house, YES. If you don't like the heat, then get out of the kitchen! We will survive and not because of rants like yours but because we will do what needs to be done. Period.
