This. WashU is not only a highly regarded school, but they pour a lot of money into their students. It used to be ranked in the mid teens by USNews until a few years ago til they changed the ranking system. |
A ranking isnt objective, its subjective based on methodology chosen by strangers. This is objective info and Emory is more selective, at least as of recent... |
A ranking is objective in the sense that the same methods of analysis apply to all of the schools evaluated. Moreover, the identity of the analyst(s) may be visible. |
How about taking it from the horse's mouth? From Emory's website (https://news.emory.edu/stories/2025/03/er_admissions_class_of__2029_28-03-2025/story.html), for the class of 2029, 37,855 applied and 5,658 admitted, for an acceptance rate of 14.95%. |
PP explained already. Emory college is still more selective, which is what most people are talking about when speaking of Emory. The sister campus will be more selective this year as well. |
|
Also from the horse's mouth: From WashU's website (https://admissions.washu.edu/life-at-washu/incoming-class-profile), for the class of 2029, 33,283 applied and 3,968 admitted, for an acceptance rate of 11.92%, which is more selective than Emory's 14.95%.
So can Emory mom/troll stop spreading misinformation? |
PP clearly said Emory received 43k apps this year, not sure how true that is, but if it is then there's no question Emory is harder to get into. |
| Both 2nd tier no sports no fun schools. Chicago Lite. |

https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1227697.page This is getting insufferable |
So are Vandy, Notre Dame, Umich, UCLA, and they all have great sports so it seems the no sports schools punch above what they should. |
| No big time sports but Emory and Wash U have had a lot of success in Division 3 sports. |
This! I dont understand why pp keeps bringing up last years numbers. Last year Emory College was more selective, this year Emory College and Oxford Collegebwill be more selective. |
How many emory posts do You do? |
The thread is about Emory is it not? |
| I feel for the Emory mom/troll's pain. I hope she has a younger child who would go to a school she doesn't have to defend and pretend to be different posters answering her own posts. I feel for you. |
