Go with the nicest available option that only does Saturday nights. If people want to do Friday night too, they can add on Friday night via regular internet purchase. |

We've been scheduled in Fredericksburg and have seen others put in Williamsburg at the WISC. Definitely confirm the field location before booking anything. |

try checking the hotel booking site for your team name on the drop down menu, it seems they possibly notified the out of town teams their acceptances so they could make travel plans. Its only maybe 20% of the total number of teams listed but could help.

Thanks for the backdoor tip, our team isn't listed on there but it seems like almost all non-Virginia teams so maybe they selected those first. Would really like to know either way for planning this other trip.
So it seems their acceptances for this event are going to go out a full month later than they did last year as we are now well into January? Last year we had the confirmation by the second week of Dec. |

| I honestly don't see what takes months and months. Its not rocket science. Say you have field space for 100 teams per age group. Take the best 100 teams that applied, throw them into some brackets, and call it a day. |

I just got an email ad for a tournament from Richmond United called the Ultimate Cup advertising its going to be the same weekend as the boys showcase weekend for the Jeff Cup (also put on by Richmond United) Do they really have that many fields? Sounds like a cluster f.

| Maybe its a marketing thing to try to capture ALL the dollars. "Sorry, your team sucked and didn't make the Jefferson Cup, but you can still play here that weekend in our Consolation Tournament".... |

It could be appealing to a coach who has one good team and one bad team that didn't get accepted. Knock out both tournaments in one weekend.
But yearh, I am surprised that they are anticipating enough surplus field space and refs for the Jefferson Cup and a whole other tournament going on at the same time. |

Its very strange! I just looked it up.
The consolation tournament is using nicer fields than the Jeff Cup for the same age groups on the same weekend and both events are being run by the same club.
