Hey, Crazy H1-B Visa Guy. Trump loves H1-Bs

You must be one of those immigrants that struggles to understand English, then just plain lies.

Here if you read carefully, the quote is not H-1b.

The Trump Organization sought to bring in at least 184 foreign workers in 2025 for temporary positions at Mar-a-Lago, two golf clubs and a Virginia winery through H-2A and H-2B visas, according to data from the Department of Labor.

I worked at a country club when I was a teenager. We don't need to import H-2A and H-2B workers for that.

It's a matter of scale. 184 tech workers would be like running a tech company. H2 are occupational workers, theoretically there will be many more in the economy.

I don't really think Democrats have a hard time understanding this. I think they are willfully trying to take advantage of very small populations of workers.

As with the previous poster being quite deceitful and indirect about it.

.

MAGA is having a hard time understanding that Trump doesn't care about them.

Can't make it make sense? Blame Dems. Boring.

anyone that has worked in software has seen how capitalists have abandoned our children to replace them with cheaper disposable temporary guest! workers. How could that have happened? because it helps the investor class.

and yeh, Democrats lost in 2016 and 2024. Largely due to immigration issues.

By June 2024, “immigration” was the second most important issue among the nearly 1,600 U.S. adults polled by The Economist/YouGov that month, trailing only “inflation/prices”. Given that Trump won the popular vote by just 1.6 percentage points (49.9 percent for the Trump/Vance ticket compared to 48.3 percent for Harris/Walz), the fact that Trump did so well with swing voters was key to his victory.

Among total swing voters who ultimately chose Trump, immigration was a key issue, with 77 percent of them believing that it was “extremely” or “very accurate” to say Democrats are “not tough enough on addressing the border crisis” and 73 percent feeling the same way about Democrats “support[ing] immigrants more than American citizens”.

Moreover, 73 percent of Trump-supporting swing voters thought it was either extremely or very accurate to state that Democrats “want to take money from hard-working Americans and give it to immigrants”, 72 percent of them believed it is fair to think Democrats “don’t care about securing the border”, and 69 percent concurred with the statement that Democrats “have extreme ideas about immigration”.

And current Democrats hate the deplorables, i.e. the US working class. those RACISTS, how dare they want to support their families. maybe if Democrats focused on policies that US voters want, they would get re-elected. One of those is to help our own children first. Help our own children get good entry level jobs with health care.

when did it become moral to allow American companies to replace our own children with cheap temporary labor?

and if you really believe capitalists when they say they need workers take a look at one of many lists of layoffs. clearly you don't agree with Trump. you would have to be living in a cave to not see what is happening.

If Democrats would start focusing on US workers, stop the illegal immigration, pause the legal immigration of cheap workers, i.e. repeal H1B and OPT and L1, they would never lose. and we could start working to reverse the damage. 3 Supreme Court picks lost , how many this time?

I have worked close to tech at large companies for 10 years now. Pretty much every major company now is highly technology focused and spends millions and millions on tech. Most people have no clue just how many pieces of tech there are that go into the things they take for granted every day. Banking, media, retail, etc.

There are some American born people here and there in these departments, but a large % is foreign born. It is not only the off shore customer support work that people think of, but the on site employees who are H1b as well as dozens and dozens of back end tech SaaS providers that may be US based but use their own offshore teams too.

Companies do not care that they aren’t giving jobs to Americans. They are always looking for the most cost effective way to run things.

How did we send people into space without H1-B’s?

A sizable portion of the US space program in the 1950s and 60s was composed of former German Nazis.

The Apollo moon landings are often portrayed as an American achievement, but the United States had help: More than 1,500 German scientists and engineers were brought to the United States in the immediate aftermath of World War II, through a secret program known as Operation Paperclip. Some were members of the Nazi Party; some were also members of the SS—the Schutzstaffel, the party’s black-uniformed political enforcers.

Like Wernher von Braun.

So, Christian Europeans from a non-"sh!thole" country (to use the Presidential term)?

+1 For a minute there, I thought I wrote this post.

I've been posting this numerous times.. I've also worked with tech companies since 1998. They don't care about the workers; they care about profits. I have seen jobs go offshore, and not just tech jobs but operations.

Don't blame the foreign workers. They are just trying to work. Blame the companies that are putting profits over Americans. But, then, that's capitalism for you.

And Trump and MAGA love capitalism, right?

Uh huh huh is your post supposed to be insightful or something. I just don't understand the purpose of such a post. Like am I supposed to read that and be like, "Well, I see what you're saying bring in as many H-1b as you want for cheap."

First things first. A) H-1b is not a capitalist concept. It is a highly regulated government function, you can think of it like a service that our government provides to businesses. It has nothing to do with free markets or anyother captialist concept. B) If corporations could just offshore and get chep labor, they't have already gone and done, why aren't you doing it faster?

Yes, corporations are great at putting forth all kinds of inane ideas begging for just another immigrant, but at the end of the day. They know what they want, we know what they want. We have no reason to want to give it to them.

The point of the post is that greedy corporate execs give money to politicians to keep these visas alive. Duh.

Hiring whomever you want to is capitalism.

"Capitalism" is so broad a term that in includes everything except for an authority telling everyone what to do.

Ghost jobs. Not a very insightful article. Many of the job posting are just "testing" the market:
