- democratic rhetoric in recent years remind them of rhetoric from the cultural revolution.
- most came here legally and with great hardship and took great pains assimilating. They perceive illegals as greatly unfair.
- Chinese culture is ultimately conservative, so a better value fit with Republicans.
- Chinese culture greatly values the family and family helping each other. This makes first gen immigrants hate taxes because they have the mentality of saving to use for their family. They do not rely on social safety net. Chinese culture has a very strong family vs stranger mentality and there is not as much emphasis on helping those outside your immediate circle. So in this aspect, also a better fit with Republican values.

😳
Talk about brainwashed.

I really find immigrants wanting to violently attack immigrants revolting. I hope your parents know they would be handcuffed leaving their check-in at courthouse in 2025.

The democrats going all in on transgender is definitely reminiscent of the cultural revolution.

Republicans want the cultural revolution, defunding science and education, taking away technical jobs with AI, the only thing left will be manual labor.

I can't say that they all "like" the current trump platform but I think they perceive it as a correction (however misguided) against the democrat's extreme policies and rhetoric over the past decade.

Why would you assume all immigrants are on the same page? From a white American point of view, maybe, since they are all just not American. But these are people from VERY different backgrounds. My parents see themselves having more in common with Americans than with new immigrants, which I think is how they should feel since they have lived half their lives here.

Many older Asians are quite racist against Blacks and Hispanics, plus are pretty religious and hate taxes as they move into higher income brackets. Therefore being Republican isn’t shocking.

This is like the Cubans in south Florida. They were the far right maga of their day support Batista. They were never freedom fighters fighting communism. They were the masked jack booted thugs for Batista.

Chinese Americans who immigrated here and who actually lived under communism are turning into hardcore Trump supporters. They are horrified at the messaging in NY wrt all the free stuff being promised, laxity on crime, and increasing taxes to make a bigger state. I didn't realize how badly Kamala had tanked with Chinese Americans. What a disaster.

You couldn’t put a gift link? Really?

Many black folks are quite racist against Asians and Hispanics. And since blacks are the core of the Democratic Party, maybe immigrants don't feel welcome there.

In terms of elections if you're a Democrat, it's not a disaster. There are not that many Chinese Americans and many are in solidly blue states.

The point is that Kamala tanked by 20 frigging percentage points with Chinese Americans compared to the prior presidential election. Sure, Chinese Americans are a small cohort, but it is a canary in the coal mine for how things are going for the Dems. Losing 20 percentage points is massive. Latinos are a massive group and are shifting right too. Why did Trump get so many Latino votes?

These groups think black people attack them in the streets and taken their spots from colleges and and have squandered the American dream, unlike them, who are hardworking and successful. This is why they would not vote for a democratic black woman, a double whammy.

Not liking black people or their level of influence in a party does not mean that black people have a trend of racism against any group. Don't project yoir racism on them that you feel is so natural, which is so natural to you that you assume they think the same.

Check yourself. Because the pp quoted her “community” and tons of posters DCUM here claiming they immigrated the legal way, so people should be deported. Maybe you haven’t been around here long. If my comment doesn’t apply, move along.

Also, people who have lived here for 25 years are getting deported and feel as American as your parents do. So, you actually proved my point.

It's odd to me that Chinese Americans want to have themselves arrested and deported.

Exactly this. Trump wouldn't hesitate to deport them in a second. Except unless they were Chinese billionaires.

I have no idea what you are talking about and I am the PP. My point is that immigrants is not some united cohort and don't automatically support each other just because they are all immigrants.

The Chinese government is going to be upset that we are sending ethnic Chinese back to China? Explain.
