| Crossing fingers for your kids! My own applied ED and is super happy there. Every aspect of the experience has exceeded expectations. |
| ED, 4.46, good ECs but SAT not good enough. Not getting my hopes up |
Prob athletic recruits. |
| Wishing all of your kids the best of luck! My son ED there last year. He is completely happy so far in his first year. Good mix of academic and social. Right choice for him. |
Truly curious why they would choose UVA engineering over VT? |
Ditto! |
They can apply to both?? |
No - definitely not. Her school does not produce D1 athletic recruits. Highly intellectual magnet school. They have maybe 3 kids a year pursuing athletics, but all that smaller D3s. |
She is applying EA to both and not convinced she can get in to either. There is no choice unless she gets in to both. |
| Results will be interesting this year with zero supplements, legacy or demonstrated interest. I wonder if they’ll admit more figuring yield will go down? |
Maybe because a college is more than just a degree factory. Maybe wants a smaller school, maybe wants access to a stronger alumni network, maybe wants to go to school with a higher caliber students, maybe wants a school with a better sports program, maybe wants a school closer to home? I can truly think of lots of reasons. |
Mine was EA and could not love the school more. Always excited for new admits as I'm sure they'll love it there. |
I see, makes sense. I misunderstood the EA. |
Stronger alumni network? OK………… |
The stats to get in that we can access do not differentiate between majors picked (some are easier, some more competitive than others), correct? It’s just word of mouth and guesses by reputation within the same school? Or listed somewhere? |
