I am a Catholic woman who leads ministries within the church.

I do own my own body. Nobody else has authority over it.

Children are born with original sin, but that is different than personal guilt.

My former friend belonged to a denomination that doesn’t even allow women to speak in services, so most of those above are still better than hers.
They are an evangelical sect similar to exclusive brethren

When the Church stops paying for supporting Pedos, get back to us on how they support women.

Opus Dei is not pro women

Opus Dei makes up about .008% of Catholics. I don’t think I’m going to worry about them representing me.

And regarding your other comment, I’m not sure how it’s relevant to this thread.

Yep, this is what I was thinking. When the catholic church allows women priests or gets a female pope, then we can reconsider

Got to give Catholic Women credit -- they really love their church and are continuously looking for ways that it's good for women

We don’t have to look for ways it’s good for women. They are simply there, so no searching necessary.

It appears the fact priests must be male offends some non-Catholics. Okay. That’s fine. I’m not offended by it at all, especially because there are so many other ways for me to assume meaningful leadership within the church.

There are still parts of the military unavailable to women. I also can’t be an NFL player, eligible to make millions. I haven’t lost any sleep about how the military and sporting franchises have belittled me.

If you are looking for something to enrage you, you’ll always find it.

I wasn’t aware you needed physical strength to become a catholic priest, like what is needed in the NFL and military positions that lock women out.

+1
None of the catholic sects support women. None. PP is nuts to think that they don’t have a strong say over women’s bodies or that because she leads some low level ministry, she is supported. The church protects abuse and has a very long history of killing children in the catholic orphanages amongst other things that are just wrong on every level. When they stop protecting abuse and literally covering up the orphaned children they’ve killed, then maybe they can sort out what they actually think of women. I’d like to see. a black female pope, but black and especially female does not work for them.

DP

PP’s comment about child abusers is totally relevant to this thread. I doubt there would be such a sex scandal if a woman was in charge. It wouldn’t be tolerated.

Catholic priests abused women, the church is still protecting them how is that not part of this thread? The Catholic Priests abused girls who grow up to be wome,n how is that not part of this thread as they are still paying to protect the priests?

The Church is also against abortion that is 100% not pro-women.

from St Paul.

Too bad about kids being born sinful. Luckily, there's baptism, for Christians, to wash that sin away. /S.

Kids who aren't baptized, go to hell when they die, just because their parents didn't bother. /S

Seriously, parents think they go to hell too, if they believe in hell. Probably, most of them don't, otherwise, they'd have their kids baptized. People who don't believe in heaven or hell think that they just die - no afterlife.

I'd definitely put Episcopalian way above Catholic, which I'd put near the bottom, along with Charismatic Evangelical - and any church that does not allow female clergy. Also would put Mormons near the bottom. While they believe women's education (now), they still treat women like reproduction machines.

That is way off. I was raised in the Assemblies of God (which is both Pentecostal and Charismatic Evangelical) and growing up I attended a church with a female head pastor. Women were very involved in the early pentecostal movement and helped found the AG Church as well as the Foursquare Gospel Church. Also I see that the Society of Friends and Methodists didn't make the list - unless they are also being lumped into Charismatic Evangelical - but Women take leadership roles in those denominations too. But I'm struggling to understand how LDS would treat women more fairly than pentecostals, unless the OP has no idea that there are many different pentecostal churches with different doctrines that are not affiliated with one another.

If you want an actual list of egalitarian churches, I recommend this resource from the Center for Biblical Equality:
