No one prefers Michigan weather over Virginia weather.

Half of these comments: Would choose UVA if in-state, Michigan better for engineering though!

Just read through the comments. Sounds like more kids “fit in” at Michigan.

My opinion: Rush at UVA could send any girl into a tail spin.

OP here. yes, it's funny.

Again, We are OOS (Maryland).

Kid is male, preppy, wants Greek life.
Protestant and is interested in Christian community groups on campus too but is politically liberal and currently has close friends of all faiths and none.

My daughter is at UVA, not at all the sorority type, more into Indie Heads. She loves it there.

OOS for both? I’d pick Michigan.

See the post above. MAGA people hate Michigan. So they won't send their kids there. So you won't have to deal with them. So Michigan it is! Hail to the Victors!

If UNC is in the choice set, how would you compare the three schools?

So major and kid dependent. But I’d pick Michigan for social and smart kid everytime.

+1

My daughter was at UVA. She wasn’t the sorority type at all, and she was just fine.
Only about 30% of the student body is involved in Greek life.

VA better weather, everything else Michigan.

Ann Arbor gets bumpier in the summer as it warms.

Waves hand. I prefer Michigan weather over Virginia. Summers in the DMV are repulsive.

Michigan has fake prestige. SOOOOO many low SAT scorers. Fake.

It's just a mega Big 10 school educating the masses.

Best bet is UVA.

Had family at each. Would agree on Michigan.

How is the quality of life or student experience at both? My kid is learning UVA due to size.

My family had girls at each. If you don’t get into one of 3 sororities at UVA you can end up feeling pretty excluded. Nothing beats football season at U of M… best time ever.

Academics are equal in my opinion.

Except they really aren’t.

PP. Have you attended both? On what basis are you making your argument? Show your work.
