The lowest of all the possible lows: US deports parents and KEEPS THE CHILD

Anonymous wrote:People (parents, aunt and uncle, grandma) about custody. They lie about living circumstances, circumstances of adoption, who desires what, etc.

These are tough and very challenging cases. I feel bad for everyone involved. But they are not simple and disastrous custody situations happen down the block. These cases involve one or more parent who are incarcerated.

I hope you go down to your county jail and help the moms and dads there who have been separated from their children. You can help with donations, making the visitations more hospitable, donate coloring books etc

How manipulative and disingenuous your words are. The dad is incarcerated in El Salvador because the US sent him there without due process because he has tattoos.

The mom was in detention because she had tattoos and now has been deported.

Neither has been convicted nor accused of any crime.

They came to the US as a family unit and requested asylum using legal channels. The parents are Venezuelan and the child is Venezuelan. The mother is begging for her child.

This is in fact very simple.

DHS added that, in addition to the father, the child’s mother, Yorely Escarleth Bernal Inciarte, oversees the recruitment of young women for drug smuggling and prostitution."

Again, these two were locked up under Biden and Biden let everyone in! Biden even went so far as to fly people into the country from Venezuela and these two were still locked up!

Oh, but I'm sure their intentions were heartfelt and good. OP keeps searching for stories in an attempt to justify illegal immigration and trash the US.

1. They were not illegal.
2. I am not trying to justify illegal immigration
3. I am 100% fine with the US government deporting mother, father, and child together to Venezuela.

What I am not okay with:
1. Sending people to a maximum security prison in El Salvador, especially *without due process*
2. Deporting a mother and keeping the baby

How am I unreasonable?

You know there’s another thread here where the baby went with the deported mother, and people are angry about it.

Did you post there and say that’s ok?

Because the father had no due process in his child being taken away. There is an obligation for parties to be heard before people are deported or kidnapped away.

Actually, I did not post on that thread.

Way to change the subject and way to assume one size fits all.

There are many different ways to be wrong, and the Trump Administration is experimenting with as many possible to create terror. They are scaring away immigrants who are here. They are scaring away immigrants from coming. They are also ruining our trillion dollar tourism. All of these are appalling. But I am talking about something different: the good of the child.

That is the principle promoted by the United Nations and that mattered to us until just a few months ago. We used to care about the good of the child.

I am going to blow your mind here: different decisions may be made in different situations for the good of the child.

Some possible differences to take into account: If a child is an American citizen; if parent is an American citizen, if parent being deported wishes to have the child removed; if an American citizen parent thinks it is best to keep the child in the US. Why is it so hard to believe that there may be different considerations.

The unifying principle is the good of the child. ANd that is why DHS has to make up lies to demonize this couple, because there is no way to justify keeping this child when:

*the Venezuelan mother has been deported
*the child is also Venezuelan
*the mother has begged for the child to be deported with her

The Biden admin was the first to remove the child from her parents because they thought they were so dangerous. You don't trust Biden?

With regard to this administration, everyone claims that they want to get rid of any possible immigrants to pump their deportation numbers up. This would have been a very easy deportation if that were their goal since they were all denied asylum. So which is it?

Did you ever think that maybe the migrants and their families were the ones lying? They have every motivation to do so.

I have been very open about criticizing Biden. The tattoo-screening policy has been shredded. Absolutely naive, misguided, and awful. However, I DO trust Biden to require due process. I am sure he failed in many ways, but he has not burned the Constituion and spit on the ashes.

I don't understand the second question. The followed the legal channels. They went by the book. Go ahead and deny them asylum and send them home. No one on this thread is saying that that would be illegal or profoundly immoral. In fact, the message here is: Please, send them all back to Venezuela. Whatever their reasons for leaving pale in comparison to the nightmare Trump has created.

As for the migrants lying, I am sure some are. And I am sure that a small percentage of those sent to CECOT are violent criminals (respected news sources have estimated 10%, a far cry from ALL of THEM). What different does it make in this situation??? This is a moment of Moral Clarity: you deported the Venezuelan mother and she is begging for her Venezuelan child. This is a very simple and clear situation.

Someone said 10 percent of El Salvadoran men who are incarcerated are “violent criminals.” For comparison, criminal law in U.S. states allows for incarceration for property crimes and other offenses.

I love how everyone knows deeply about El Salvador now. Is it the new Kardashians? The new White Lotus?

Most of the crime to girls and others were not in your inner circles. Spend equal time researching that.

Nobody said that. Nobody is talking about incarcerated "El Salvadoran" men. Stop changing the subject.

Tom Homan, Kristi Noem and co. have claimed that every Venezuelan whom they sent to El Salvador was: illegal, a violent criminal, and a member of Tren de Aragua; the "worst of the worst" and a threat to our safety. Several news organizations have looked into this claim and found it to be FAKE NEWS.

Here are couple of links for analysis of how many have Venezuelans ANY criminal records, whatsoever, in any country:

https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2025-04-10/about-90-of-migrants-sent-to-el-salvador-lacked-u-s-criminal-record
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/what-records-show-about-migrants-sent-to-salvadoran-prison-60-minutes-transcript/

In case you don't want to click:
Hundreds of pages of U.S. legal records and American government statements reviewed by Bloomberg News found five men charged with or convicted of felony assault or firearms violations. Three men were charged with misdemeanors including harassment and petty theft. Two others were charged with human smuggling.
For the rest of the men, there was no available information showing they committed any crime other than traffic or immigration violations in the U.S.

Moreover, a large percentage of these men were in fact legal.

To summarize: The United States has sent a large number of entirely innocent men who came to the United States through legal channels and have never been accused or convicted of any crime to a concentration camp in another country.

Every thread democrats post about innocent people being deported by evil Trump lacks details. The only thing democrats want people to do is instantly become outraged; don’t research the facts. Because if people did examine the facts, they would see that democrats are completely supporting violent criminals.

Democrats can’t give enough love and American taxpayer money to violent criminals who are illegally in the US.

The bar for refusing asylum in the US is low.

In contrast, our country sets a much higher bar when it comes to convicting someone of a crime and sentencing them to prison.

The onus is not on me to provide any evidence, it is on DHS.

I'll answer anyway:
*if they had any evidence, they would have published it, instead of slandering the couple with uncorroborated accusations
*we have seen the same MO repeatedly when DHS is asked specifically about prisoners who are most apparently innocent (for example, Jerce Reyes Barrios and Andry José Hernández Romero) or generally asked about the very high percentage of LEGAL immigrants with ZERO CRIMINAL RECORD who were sent to a maximum security prison in El Salvador.

How do I know that they are lying: Their lips are moving.

Now, stop with the disingenuous pretense that you care for the well-being of the child. This is a very clear case. No one is arguing against the deportation. The Venezuelan mother has been deported and is demanding that her Venezuelan child be returned to her.

Give the mother her child!

Yes to this. We are in the “have to break a few eggs to make an omelette” stage of regaining our rights as a sovereign nation.

You don’t want to end up in CECOT? Don’t come into the US illegally and if you slipped through, if you so much as get a parking ticket, you’re out.

Don’t to want to be separated from your kids? Don’t come into illegally and drop anchor babies.

It’s not pretty, but it needs to happen.

Anonymous wrote:I have been looking into this story since Friday. I have contacts in Venezuela who shared the most heart-wrenching video I have seen in my life of a woman devastated because she had been deported without her child.

It turns out I had already heard about this family, who came to the US last year and requested asylum (through the legal channels for inquiring minds!) in the following April 1st ABC news article: https://abcnews.go.com/US/family-venezuelan-migrant-recently-el-salvador-american-horror/story?id=120381541

The US sent the Maiker Espinoza Escalonal to CECOT, kept the mother Yorelys Bernal detained, and put the baby in foster care. I am incensed that the Biden administration started this horror show but the escalation by Trump is horrific. We have now deported the mother and KEPT the two-year-old!! She has no contact with the family who has her baby.

I honestly didn't know whether or not I could believe this atrocity but DHS has confirmed it. Of course they have put their dishonest/we are saviors/demonize the imigrant spin on it:
https://www.dhs.gov/news/2025/04/26/dhs-sweeps-action-protect-child-tren-de-aragua-parents

Even if the DHS accusations were believable (which they absolutely are NOT), even if there had been some kind of due process (there has NOT), this is an atrocity.
This is kidnapping.
This goes against common sense and any sense of morality. If you deport the mother -- and the mother implores you to give her back her child -- there is only one thing to do.

The US are officially kidnappers. We are officially as bad as you can get.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is firing back after it says the Venezuelan government spread false information that the Trump administration was separating children from parents who are members of the violent Tren de Aragua gang (TdA).

A spokesperson for DHS shared a news release that said, despite the Venezuelan government claiming the U.S. “kidnapped” a child, “the truth is DHS took action because both her parents are part of Tren De Aragua.”

The child in question’s father, Maiker Espinoza-Escalona, is a lieutenant of Tren De Aragua who oversees homicides, drug sales, kidnappings, extortion, sex trafficking and operates a torture house, the agency said.

DHS added that, in addition to the father, the child’s mother, Yorely Escarleth Bernal Inciarte, oversees the recruitment of young women for drug smuggling and prostitution.

“These criminal illegal aliens entered the country illegally and had final orders of removal from a judge,” DHS said.

DHS said the child was taken off the deportation flight manifest for her safety and welfare through a partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services. The child remains in the care and custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement and was placed with a foster family, the agency said.

The agency added that “parents are asked if they want to be removed with their children or ICE will place the children with someone the parent designates.”

What do they have on him since from when he entered over a year ago in May 22, 2024, in El Paso, Texas and requested asylum he has been in custody? That seem so strange since most people with children were not detained or only briefly detained under Biden.

Just read his declaration and he says the mother of the child has been detained since October of 2024 because they have been having weekly in person visits with the child. Removing the child from the parents happened under Biden. Poor kid.

From his declaration-

7. Additionally, I do not want to be transferred to or detained at Guantanamo because I will
be separated from my partner, Yorely Escarleth Bernal Inciarte, and my two-year-old
daughter. My partner is also detained at the El Paso Processing Center. Our daughter is
currently in ORR custody. My partner and I have had weekly, in-person visits with our
daughter since around October 2024. If I am transferred to Guantanamo, I will be
separated from my family.

Biden wasn't using Guantanamo. Something is off here.
Detained under Biden, Trump tried to send him to Guantanamo?
