+1 yes. Those who are here illegally have the option of self deporting.

+1 People need to obey laws and do what police ask.

People have certain protections under the law, including the 4th amendment which protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures by the government. For example, the police can't enter your home if you don't invite them in unless they have a warrant or believe someone is in imminent danger.

Pros and cons to freedom. I’d rather people overstay their visa than live in a police state.

People can watch “blue cam” on youtube. Hundreds of traffic stop arrests online. Many are stops of impaired drivers. A number of them refused and get the window-break. It’s a known thing this lady was calm

From the videos on line Most young and old ladies are not calm at all. Men are oddly more calm. You can learn a lot through recorded police videos online .

If a police officer orders you to step out of the vehicle, you are legally required to cooperate. The police can tell someone to step out of their car for any reason. There is Supreme Court case law (Pennsylvania v. Mimms, 1977) that gives cops the authority to do this. Any decent lawyer with half a brain would tell someone that’s been pulled over to cooperate with the police and not resist. If a police officer tells you to step out and you refuse, you will be forcibly removed from the vehicle and arrested. If you roll up the window, they will break it open and proceed to arrest you. Needless to say, if you’re pulled over and told to step out of the car, just do it. The place to argue is the courtroom, not the side of the road. Noncompliance won’t get you anywhere but jail.

I can't believe it. Watch the video. It's heartbreaking. Horrifying.

I don't speak much Spanish, but it appears they didn't have a judicial warrant.

OMG. This is our country????

OP: You need to get on youtube. Local Stste Police -nearly all- have cameras on their uniform. This is procedure. It also shows you how to remain calm.

Maybe we can pass a congressional law asking for federal police force body cams That is pretty reasonable

I don’t know.

I have dealt with police directly before. It gets uncomfortable. Guess what many many Americans have. It is tense. It is these bc the officers are trying to engage —and the person wants to keep doing whatever they were doing before police arrive.

So yes… Although it is inherently undignified— it does not make it improper or illegal. Yes, it’s unpleasant. But people don’t normally walk over immediately and turn themselves in. They just don’t. People who steal don’t suddenly grow a conscious and put back the money either.

I am not sure if a campaign of detentions makes us a “police state.” Not yet anyway. I am not seeing it yet. I am seeing detentions and involuntary flights … that’s all legal

That is only partially correct. During what is known as a Terry stop, the police can order you to leave the vehicle, and you must. However, a prerequisite is that the have to stopped and detained you legally first. They cannot pull you over without probable cause, which is reasonable articulable suspicion (RAS) that you have committed a crime, are currently committing a crime, or are about to commit a crime. So if there was no RAS of a crime, then there was no legal Terry detention. Then they cannot order you out of the car. Then the entire thing is a violation of the 4th Amendment.

So what you are saying is that idiots voted for Trump and Biden and here we are in 2025 with this gray area of when and how it's constitutional to apprehend and deport undocumented migrants. Way to go America!
