That is a diet change, not I need a weight loss injection with major side effects. You could lose 10-15 pounds on a low carb or low glycemic diet in a few weeks. Why would you even consider it? People are nuts.

I agree with you that people are nuts. But I'd say just leave the 10 lbs. Going low carb is highly effective, yes. But also every. single. person. I know whose done low carb dieting gains it all back, and then some.

They gain it back because they relax their eating and start eating more calories, more carbs again.

Which is @$:#ing inevitable

No, not if you use a slow sustainable approach. The trouble is most people are too impatient and too inconsistent to do so.

The science of obesity medicine disagrees with you.

People don’t stay consistent with their food intake. That’s the issue.

I can't speak yet to what it's like to go off, because I'm still on as I'd like to lose 2-5 more lbs. I am back in my skinny jeans for the first time in years and I am happy. I am hopeful I'll be able to maintain, as I have always been a relatively slim person, and until about 5 years ago, I weighed what I weigh now. So I know what I need to do (and not do) to maintain. The miracle of this med is that I am no longer obsessing about food and battling hunger all the time.

There is a doctor named Tyna Moore who's written (and youtubed) a lot about "microdosing" which may interest you.

I had only mild side effects and only during the first couple of weeks. A little nausea and tiredness, but nothing that impacted my life. Still exercised, went to work, played with the kids.

Mind me asking when you started were you already eating healthy reduced diet etc. I’m wondering if the metabolism part is worth it if you are already trying the other stuff

Totally- this! This can be done in 2-3 months with some dieting and exercise. Why would you ever mess with big pharma? So many ppl are broken on the inside.

+1

Avoid big pharma as much as possible.

That's what my health insurance company says.

It’s easy for very overweight people to lose this amount quickly, but not for leaner people. Stop gatekeeping this weight loss hack.

+1. I've tried for years to lose 15 pounds. I'm not overweight, but I wasn't happy with my body. GLP-1 did the trick. 18 lbs down, in my skinny jeans again, feeling better and more beautiful than I have in over a decade. No major side effects - a little bit of nausea here and there. Completely worth it.

I'm mid 40s , healthy, but about 10-15 pounds more than my ideal (around 150 and 5'6). I excersie and weight train. I would love to try this but I have a few questions:

1. can you go off of it? And if you do, does weight come back?
2. other than gastro side effects, have other more long term side effects been discovered?
3. is there a way to do a LOW dose of this- so the weight loss is also slow? (I saw an ad about oral drops?)
4. anyone use GPL-1 for only weight loss (10-15 pounds) and how did it go and do you recommend?

Quickest way to lose 15 pounds is to sever a limb

Right - that’s the issue. And if it were easily corrected then it wouldn’t be an issue. Obviously saying “just eat less” is not a solution to obesity.

2.5 until the last two weeks went up to 3.5 to drop the final few lbs. Now tapering back and eventually off.

I have read these threads long enough that I know most people don’t understand that is the issue. They really believe they were consistently eating 1000 calories and not losing weight.

What is the easiest way to get a low dose GLP-1? I’d like to lose 10-15 pounds as well. Already eat very healthfully (no sugar, limited carbs, high fiber, etc). Also work out every day including weight training 3x week. For like 10 years though I’ve been trying to lose the same gd 10-15 pounds. I’ve reached it briefly at times but always come back up. I’m sure I’d be able to keep it off if I gave up alcohol but thats a tough one to give up.
