Name a Republican or Dem politician that isn't awful. Crickets.

America needs a center left majority more than it needs a far left minority.
Gerry Connolly splits the difference, he's pretty left but not a fukn nutjob

She’s far left for promoting American workers? Okay. I think the Dems are nearly as misogynist and power hungry as the GOP so no surprise, especially since it’s the very thing AOC is trying to dismantle. She also a candidate who won with a ton of votes with the felon on top, so she’s clearly winning, so let’s ignore her.

She won in the south bronx in NYC, we can safely ignore her. That district isn't going anywhere.
She was part of that whole "defund the police" movement.
She wants to control rents and make it even harder to evict tenants for non-payment.
She wants open borders and amnesty.
She was a sponsor of that ridiculous "green new deal."
She has a few good ideas but her stance on other things just makes her a LWNJ. Her stance on illegal immigration is especially tone deaf.

We should put a chair in the corner of the room and put her name on that chair.

Maybe the Dems are coming to their senses. Going with the more moderate choice.

Progressives did cause Democrats to lose everything - the White House, the Senate, the House, State Houses. But Democrats are wrong to block AOC from meaningful leadership positions. She's young, charismatic, sharp, articulate, and when she focuses on things like health care and corruption, she's terrific. Everyone is running away from LatinX, trans, DEI, restorative justice, and all the other progressive nonsense. AOC is smart enough to realize what works and what doesn't work. And she is gifted and has a large national constituency. Democrats should have allowed her to be a voice in the party as it moves on. Propping up the gerontocracy isn't going to win Democrats any elections either.

+1

What Democrats don’t get is that voters respond to politicians that are bold with convictions that say what’s on their mind and are willing to take risks. Americans love bold leadership. We care a lot less about the details.

"Leadership" starts at top and when you have presidents like Trump and Biden that have absolutely zero leadership skill, that poop rolls down hill to Congress.

I love AOC. She is an amazing orator. Her speech and writing is authentic, passionate and inspiring. I’m not even a progressive but she certainly would have my support.

The one I really don’t like is Jamal. She grates on me and never inspires any desire to get behind her ideas.

I agree, she is brilliant and could have a bright future if she could ditch the stank of our current two current major parties. It will take a brilliant young politician that is brave enough to leave our current failed major parties behind to start a new movement of people coalescing behind the party that will eventually be the first to replace one of our two major parties in way too long of a time. Once one is replaced, the other current major party will be forced into major reform or they'll be replaced by a new party as well because they won't be able to contend with an opposition party that is functional. This country needs more AOCs assuming she is as bold as I think she could be.

If you really consider AOC to be the most popular young person in the party, then Democrats won't be winning national elections any time soon.

We are tired of cleaning up after the Republicans. Let them fix it

Feel free to run AOC then.

In a world where people can be duped into voting for Trump and Biden to be the most powerful person on the planet, there is no predicting who and what people will vote for down ballot. Sickening.

Some of this younger group have been taking spots from the old folks, so they chose this spot to make a stand.

Sure would be nice if the younger folks could take the POTUS spot away from Trump and Biden. We've had all the 80 year old president crap we can stand as a country.

+1 Jealousy?

NP. What is this "jealousy" trope that always comes up whenever people express dislike of AOC? It's as idiotic as the "misogyny/racist" nonsense when expressing criticism of a woman or POC. Give it a rest. AOC is too far to the left, period.
