House leadership must really hate AOC if they endorsed Gerry over her. No shade against Gerry, he is my rep and I like him, but he literally has cancer and has missed appearances that he usually makes.

That's disappointing. I like Connolly (who is my rep) but AOC was the better choice. I hope he is up to it.

I think more time in office almost always wins.

Connolly is a solid pick. I think it's actually a good pairing. He can do the elder statesman bit and she can really go after folks in hearings. She will have her chance, but I also very much see the argument that the old Dems need to get out of the way.

+1 He’s in his 70s and battling cancer. It’s a mistake to put him in leadership. Both parties need to start promoting younger members into leadership roles.

If you really consider AOC to be the most popular young person in the party, then Democrats won't be winning national elections any time soon.
