Remember back before everyone phone-posted and you would get insane flame wars over typos and misspellings? Thanks for bringing that vibe back.

My pleasure. FWIW I believe it’s that type of casual stupidity and not being embarrassed about that is emblematic of the stupid that has eroded our local government and contributed to the tragic election loss (own goal, really).

Nope. I recall looking at the numbers when I-83 had around 170,000 votes in favor and it was closer to 72 than 73. It seems that it was YOU who made the mistake, funnily enough. Maybe it's YOU that needs to get remedial math education.

It's incredibly ironic that the causal stupidity you describe is your own. Ignorance and arrogance go hand in hand.

You insufferable dingbat. Here are the initial numbers per Ballotpedia:

Yes: 174,528
No: 66,681

Divide 174,528 by 241,209 and what do you get? 72.4%, which rounds down to 72%.

You have thoroughly embarrassed yourself. Please take this as a lesson that you should never make ridiculous assumptions about your own intellectual superiority and definitely share those assumptions with others.

^ never (share those . . .)

Doesn’t matter because Trump won and he said he is going to take over DC and dissolve local government.

I voted for Harris but this is the rare silver lining in last night's results. The progressive left has returned DC to the Marion Barry 1990s when the Control Board was created to take over. Tony Williams, the Control Board CFO, then went on to be DC's most successful mayor. He was the architect of the prosperity and growth the city experienced through his terms. The momentum kept going through the kleptocracy of the Adrian Fenty/Bowser Green Machine but now has run out ---both because of mayoral ineptitude and the far-left progressives on the DC Council. I would be happy if Trump fired the USAO and put in a tough on crime federal prosecutor, made sure that the judicial bench was balanced out with former prosecutors instead of just former defenders and legal aid lawyers and started untangling the tangle of pro-tenant laws that have had the aggregate result of creating and perpetuating the safety/crime chaos that now besets many multi-family buildings---when dangerous and violent individuals cannot be evicted.

It will be interesting to see if the new congress implements Initiative 83 if the council declines.

Also watching to see if the new administration mandates RTO for feds and whether that gives a boost to downtown.

Did you have to Google that too?

I agree with the poor review of the DC Council performance. I disagree that they are “progressive”. This is very simply a self-interested group of people whose primary and possibly only concern is survival in their taxpayer funded positions. I’d be happy to see them go away and for us to rethink the governance. This isn’t working

Now you’re using newly published numbers. You’re seriously thinking-skinned and still can’t do math

What’s the issue here with the PP name calling?

72.7% =73%

Either way DC Council should have Zero say in whether it’s implemented immediately. Quite frankly, it would be tantamount to both repudiation of democracy and should be equally punishable as taking a bribe. Essentially, should have disbanded it the day they voted to remove term-limits.

What? 174,528 vs. 66,681 were the results were the numbers that were first posted on the BOE website. It should go without saying, but nonetheless I am forced to point out that vote totals go up as more votes are counted. Just admit that you made a complete ass out of yourself - albeit anonymously - and move on.
