What are you doing for July 4th? What do you WISH you were doing for it?

Wish I could go to the beach, I love to see the fireworks along the shoreline.
Alas, hotels for the Fourth are a 3-night minimum or more expensive than I’d like.
Probably will stay back and hang out at the local pool, at least the kids will be happy.

I can’t believe full grown adults still get so down about an invite they didn’t get. I feel like the best part of marriage and family is not caring about that stuff anymore.

Oh - and I wish we could be at the beach with my family. Sports get in the way every year and it sucks. I love my family’s beach place and 4th get togethers.

Long weekend at a mountain rental within driving distance. But most years we are home & don’t really do anything special- grilling out maybe and fireworks. Maybe go to a movie if the weather is not good.

I don’t think we have ever been invited to a friend gathering on the 4th of July actually. We hosted a small gathering once or twice But haven’t for years. Most people tend to be on vacation or with extended family it seems.

Taking the train to the beach sounds dreamy. Have fun, OP!

What train goes to the beach? In real life from the dmv?

I'm not married. I don't have kids.

I'm not in the DMV. Where I live it'll be about an hour there and an hour back. So I can only stay at the beach about an hour, because bathroom!

Yes. I’m pretty sure my go to friends have plans for the 4rh but it’s with families whose kids are not at sleep away camp this week and it makes “sense” for the families invited to get together. While I wish it would have worked out kid-wise I totally get it. You can’t invite everyone all the rk s.

Pool, bbq with DHs work friends, hangout with neighbors and watch fireworks from the street

Oh, that’s what I’m actually doing. What I’d like to do is lay in a freshly made bed alone all day, eat little snacks, read, watch tv, and look at fireworks out the window.
