Mark Penn is disgusting and has been for a long time |
Let’s see if Trump shows up.

WaPo doesn't say Hillary could jump in--one opinion columnist says so and not terribly convincingly. Opinion columns, in general, are pretty useless and just that--one person's opinion. "No one has mentioned her as a possible running mate for Biden far as I know, but why not replace Harris with Clinton? At 76, she might want no part of it, but it’s hard to retire when you feel your job isn’t done. If Biden needs to step down, even those who didn’t vote for Clinton would have confidence in her ability to keep the country on track. It’s just a thought, but worse ideas have met with regrettable success." |
No one is replacing Harris. No one is replacing Biden. They are the candidates through the primary process.

+1 Biden will do fine and the debate will be long since forgotten by Election Day. |
Mainstream news like Sinclair stations?
Everything is suspect at this point. |
Amazing, in their attempt to deny that they are easily manipulated by misinformation this person has demonstrated exactly why they are continuously manipulated by misinformation. They saw a word they didn't recognize, "cheapfake," and instead of looking it up they just assumed it must be an incorrect usage of a word they DO understand, "deepfake," because that interpretation conforms to their preconceived worldview - that these manipulated Biden videos are accurate representations. They avoided the cognitive dissonance of realizing that they have been hoodwinked by selectively edited videos and actually reinforced their incorrect worldview by inventing for themselves a false scenario - that the person they replied to thinks that the selectively edited videos of Biden are "deepfaked," and since that is not true, then clearly that person is wrong and they are right. Here's the problem, you just made all of that up. "Cheapfake" as it was used by the person you responded to is a different word than "Deepfake." While a deepfake is a computer generated image of a person doing or something something they didn't, a "cheapfake" is using selective editing of things a person actually did or said to make them appear to have done or said something that they didn't. For a humorous and exaggerated example look at this Simpsons clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8uM0zOBuSw Sure, Homer actually said all of those individual words, but was obviously innocent of what that cheapfake supposedly "proved." The person you replied to was entirely correct. Manipulated videos of Biden are incorrectly depicting him as mentally unsound. You were so unwilling to believe something that went against your worldview you denied factual information and made up something instead that was more comfortable for you to believe. This is something you have undoubtedly done to yourself many times before and is the reason you can't extricate yourself from the Trump cult. You see him saying something despicable (like when he said he would become a dictator on day one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aX0iAmz9iLM) and tell yourself "surely what he ACTUALLY meant was..." or "He was just joking about..." You hear him be completely unable to form a coherent sentence on something that is a basic and necessary part of being the President (for example when he was asked what the nuclear triad is: https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2015/12/1...triad-debate-sot.cnn) and you tell yourself he answered the question because it's more comfortable than admitting you support a President who has zero moral compass and is dangerously incurious and outright unintelligent. I sincerely hope that one day you can undo the manipulation that has been wrought on you. Unfortunately the only way that will happen is if you admit to yourself that you have been wrong. That you have believed obviously incorrect things, that you were too ignorant to separate truth from fiction. It's going to be painful but ultimately for the best. |
The debates won't do anything to change public opinion on these two candidates. They will only serve to reaffirm the frustrations many of us have with the likely two major party nominees. Biden's nomination would be a huge problem for the Dem party if his GOP opponent was a viable POTUS candidate. The GOP opponent is the worst major party candidate candidate in American history based on the clear evidence of his lack of integrity while previously holding the POTUS position. Thanks to the GOP's mind boggling insistence on nominating this awful candidate once again, Biden has the opportunity to capture enough of the swing vote in swing states to win. Biden could have a 10 minute brain freeze moment during a debate and the election outlook would be unchanged as long as Trump is his GOP opponent. |
I want so badly for Pete Buttigieg to replace Biden. |
There is no realistic path to "replacing" a major party incumbent that is actively seeking a second term and has already easily won their party's primary. The only way Biden isn't the nominee is if he himself chooses to step down or if he can't proceed as the nominee due to death or a serious health matter. We knew how old he would be in 2024 when we nominated and elected him in 2020. Being 81 years of age and having a 35% to 40% approval rating would be a death sentence for an incumbent POTUS seeking re-election in normal times. In our current political environment and with the benefit of having Trump as his opponent, Biden has at least a 50/50 chance of winning. |
I think the question is, will trump be replaced if he does not show or totally blows? |
Obviously no Biden is not getting replaced
But why isn't there a major panic in the R party about Trump, with calls to replace him? |
