If Biden doesn’t ace the first debate, will he be replaced at the convention?

But why isn't there a major panic in the R party about Trump, with calls to replace him?

Because they are nihilists

There seems to be a large majority of GOP politicians and voters that stubbornly refuse to acknowledge how awful and weak Trump is as a POTUS candidate in a general election. Instead of seizing the opportunity for a likely victory over an unpopular 81 year old incumbent opponent, the GOP is choosing to nominate an extremely divisive and unfit candidate that will cause more swing voters to vote against their candidate than for him. The GOP will need a big time turnover in leadership and a more welcoming party platform in order to have any chance of winning in 2028 against what is very likely to be a much stronger Dem candidate.

But But… the mainstream media has said nothing about Biden having dementia and that he’s doing a great job. Why would he be replaced for 1 bad debate ?

Unless he's buried in a golf course, it's going to be Trump again in 2028! Don't you think?

The idea of Biden acing a debate considering his mental condition is laughable. Now it might be clever at this point for Trump to treat Biden with kid gloves at the debate so the Dems don’t get rid of him right away.

The GOP is growing rapidly under Trump. Hispanics are supporting Trump and he has more African American support of any Republican in modern history. The GOP is now the party of the working class, pro citizen supremacy, anti open borders, anti war… it’s the growth positions. Trump transformed the party and switched places with the democrats in many areas.

Do they make gloves to fit stumpy little fingers like Trump's fingers?

Trump has clearly declined mentally since 2016, but he's not showing signs of significant dementia. There's no comparison with Biden, who needs a handler constantly to tell him where to go during public events. Biden can't be trusted to do more than read short bits from the teleprompter, and even then he reads the directions out loud.

Also, Republicans are suckers and think Trump will help them instead of himself.

Republican leaders definitely want Trump to lose. They're foolish if they think what comes next will be better. Trump talks stupidly and aggressively but governs moderately. Wouldn't be surprised to see Republicans and Democrats pining for the Orange Man if a replacement emerges who talks softly but governs aggressively.

There is no realistic path to "replacing" a major party incumbent that is actively seeking a second term and has already easily won their party's primary.

Like that was ever in doubt.

Because the man babbling incoherently about sharks and boat batteries is totally with it, right?

We are so effed.

Plus he’s a rapist. This forum has become a MAGA cess pool. Has it been sold? Is there a moderator any more?
