If Biden doesn’t ace the first debate, will he be replaced at the convention?

“That being the case, the scheduled presidential debate on June 27 will be the most crucial test yet to determine Biden’s mental acuity. Those who mean harm to our nation will be watching that first debate with calculated interest.
The pressure on Biden to “ace” the debate will be enormous. His latest major gaffe is not creating confidence among his supporters, while potentially creating increased hope among our adversaries.
While at a Juneteenth celebration at the White House on Monday, Biden not only appeared to freeze solid for a minute, but then, when later delivering remarks, not only slurred his speech, but appeared to say something the New York Post reported as: “She know long! She knew suhlongasuhijeruhhnied, our freedom can never be secured.”“

UK daily mail has a big article about Obama, the Clintons, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer joining forces to force Joe to resign and Kamala as well. It says the DNC is arranging an online poll to select a new President and VP.

Secret Democrat plot to replace Biden revealed: How Clinton, Obama, Pelosi and Schumer will topple the aging President… and when they'll do it

“According to Democratic bigwig, Obama campaign guru David Axelrod, the Biden team scheduled one of the earliest presidential debates in history (June 27 on CNN) to prove to naysayers that Joe's not going anywhere.

But the gambit carries tremendous risk.

While an efficient debate performance by Biden could help rally Democrats behind him - a significant misstep would only stoke more replacement chatter.

Former Clinton advisor and polling expert Mark Penn suggested the CNN debate will be Biden's last chance to reassure voters he's fit for the job.”

I have to admit I think the early debate might be to see if Biden is competent enough to keep running.

No, the early debate is to change the narrative by putting Trump in front of the American people on national television. His only appearances so far this year have been rallies full of devoted supporters and interviews with conservative hosts lobbing softball questions. Bash and Tapper will be asking follow-ups, muting him when it's not his turn to speak and maybe even fact-checking him.

Biden's mental acuity is fine.

The GOP keeps lowering the bar and each time, Biden knocks it out of the park.

So all the media outlets talking about Biden being replaced are just making up rumors?

So far I see a Daily Mall article and a piece in The Hill written by a Republican consultant. What am I missing here?

Nothing.

The GOP knows it is in trouble with Trump and the MAGAs so doing whatever they can to foment disorder and division on the left is their best shot.

Biden will do fine in the debate. Expectations will be set low and he will exceed them.

Did Biden have a tough interview that I missed? He certainly won’t get the same treatment from Bash and Tapper.

Democrats Might Need a Plan B. Here’s What It Looks Like.
The political and procedural steps for how to pick a new presidential nominee.

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2024/02/12/joe-biden-democrat-plan-b-nominee-00140790

So far, Democrats have vigorously avoided any discussion of a Plan B for their presidential nominee. But special counsel Robert Hur’s report may have forced their hand.

Fairly or not, Hur’s stinging characterization of President Joe Biden as a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory” and “diminished faculties” has thrust the president’s age and mental fitness into the debate. Coupled with the widespread perception that Biden is too old for another term and the fact that he frequently trails former president Donald Trump in swing state polling matchups, it’s raised serious questions about whether Biden is positioned to lead the party in November — and whether Democrats need a contingency plan.

There’s actually been a ton of stuff written online discussing this possibility. It’s been talked about for awhile.

I don’t see how politically they could move someone into Biden’s place that isn’t Kamala and no one wants Kamala.

After Robert Hur's Biden age comments, could any Democrats really take his place in 2024?

So there are more articles than the ones above, but you get the picture.

And the subsequent release of the full transcripts how how full of BS Hur's report actually was.

I don't care at all if it's Biden or someone else at the top of the Democratic ticket, since any candidate will be better than Trump. Heck, a lot of conservative candidates would be better than Trump!
