Girls have fewer behavioral issues and are less likely to get in trouble. They can have male and female interests. They are typically more helpful at home and stay close to their parents throughout their life. Iโ€™m

I wanted to have girls, but had only boys. It was good for me to learn how amazing and loving boys can be.

Boys are ick. Girls are better and more loving.

Who cares about the picking the sex? You are paying for it, literally. How is this any different from adopting and picking the sex, race, age, etc?

I am reporting these comments about incels and straight up misandry. I really hope karma comes for your children.

You are awful people.

It seems to me that the parents in the article have specific expectations for how they think these daughters are going to turn out. "Rock-star leader", best friend relationship, etc.

I just think these people are not going to take it well if their daughters don't turn out this way or if they have difficulties raising them. What happens if they're neurodivergent or serious introverts?

Toxic masculinity was specifically mentioned by all couples interviewed as to why they don't want boys. Why not try to raise a son to be kind, respectful, and emotionally available? Be the change you want to see in the world!

Agree. Hopefully they are able to reconcile expectations with reality.

โ€œA son is a son till he gets him a wife. A daughter is a daughter for life.โ€ Not true in all cases obviously but frequent enough that thereโ€™s a proverb about it.

My son is a kind and loving person, "ick" poster, like his mother and father.

Agreed. This is really sad for boys in a way, that prospective parents think it's inescapable for men to live any other way.

Yup. Plenty of women don't want to be rock stars or leaders. What if this lady's kids want to be stay at home moms, musicians who never make it big time, or government employees with great work life balance? Such pressure! We don't make our kids in our own images.

I used to think I would want only girls in the future, because our oldest is a boy with autism and ADHD, and that profile is more commonly found in boys...

...but then our second, a daughter, was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that our family is apparently predisposed to. Women are by far the main sufferers.

So now I suppose we shouldn't have any more children.

Sigh.

Im sorry, apparently the two go hand in hand-joint genetics

signed autoimmune female with many on the spectrum relatives.

I've never had a choice, my only euploid embryos were male. Same with friends they only had girls.
