Israeli air strike takes out Iranian general.

Good for them. And “embassies” don’t generally harbor terrorists. Or is that ok now?

So? Disproportionate response is also not the solution, which is why we tolerate the proxy attacks.

Should be taking out Iran’s drone manufacturing capabilities.

According to the NY Times, the strike took out seven Iranian officers as they were meeting with Palestinian militants, including members of Islamic Jihad, to discuss the war in Gaza. The dead including the regional commander of the Quds Force.

It's a legitimate target. Iran is the biggest backer of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. I'm surprised the Iranians were so reckless as to have a high level meeting at the consulate. Obviously that's been under Israeli surveillance since the beginning of time. Oh well.

He is a neocon, probably he thinks it is a good idea to widen the crisis.

He’s obsessed over US going to war with Iran since the Obama years. I wouldn’t be surprised if our cruiser ships is destroyed in the Red Sea in a false flag blamed on Iran.

I will say since W Bush.
Bibi wanted war in Iraq and Iran.

I read it was a building next to the embassy.
US bombed the Chinese embassy in Serbia 'by mistake'.

The US is on high alert and actively preparing for a “significant” attack that could come as soon as within the next week by Iran targeting Israeli or American assets in the region in response to Monday’s Israeli strike in Damascus that killed top Iranian commanders, a senior administration official tells CNN.

Senior US officials currently believe that an attack by Iran is “inevitable” – a view shared by their Israeli counterparts, that official said. The two governments are furiously working to get in position ahead of what is to come, as they anticipate that Iran’s attack could unfold in a number of different ways – and that both US and Israeli assets and personnel are at risk of being targeted.

A forthcoming Iranian attack was a major topic of discussion on President Joe Biden’s phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday.

As of Friday, the two governments did not know when or how Iran planned to strike back, the official said.

A direct strike on Israel by Iran is one of the worst-case scenarios that the Biden administration is bracing for, as it would guarantee rapid escalation of an already tumultuous situation in the Middle East. Such a strike could lead to the Israel-Hamas war broadening into a wider, regional conflict – something Biden has long sought to avoid.

Iran Tells US to Step Aside as It Readies Response to Israel
Tehran warns US ‘not to get dragged into Netanyahu’s trap’
Islamic Republic says it’ll respond to Syria consulate strike
Iran said it asked the US to “step aside” as the country prepares a response to a suspected Israeli attack on its consulate in Syria while Hezbollah, its main proxy in the Middle East, warned the Jewish state it’s prepared for war.

That strike by Israel was timed very well. Start a big war with Iran and the US will forget about the “liberal” American aid workers killed by the Israelis. Guess there will be no restrictions on Israel …Biden.

This reminds me of a guy I knew in college. He was a little short guy who would alway pick fights in bars. He would mouth off, throw a sucker punch and run to hide behind all his “friends”. Once he was safe he would start yelling at the guy he punched. We cut him loose after the second time it happened.

I do not want to go to war with Iran for Israel. If Israel wants to go to war with Iran have at it but do not count on the US to come to your rescue.

This was not a “mistake”. This was a deliberate provocation by Israel.

But Blinken said that Israel will never defend itself alone as long as U.S exists…. you see these people are not representing American foreign policy, the only thing at the forefront of Blinken and Biden’s mind is Israel because they are bought and paid for by AIPAC.

Yes just like the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising was the fault of the Jews.

Iran has not respected embassies or diplomacy since 1979.

Ergo, their so-called “embassy” was a legitimate target, particularly as it was being used as a safe-house for a bloody terrorist.

Depends. Are you one of the posters in the relationship forum who complains about the lack of frequency?

See this is the problem in the world today. People in CA complain for years about drought then they get a few atmospheric rivers and complain about mudslides.

People are complaining about global warming and you have a solution of nuclear winter but don’t want that, make up your mind people.
