This would be perfectly acceptable if it was for a church youth group or a Christian school, but I would not do this for anything else.

Nope. Won't touch it and would be offended if that's what your offering

But would anyone care about your reaction? No. No they wouldn’t.

Baked potato bar (wrap in foil, bake in oven, place in ice chests to keep hot) with toppings plus a big ham. Also add sweet baked potatoes for those who prefer them. Number 5 cans of baked beans and green beans as sides.

Be prepared for some people to leave or not attend if you serve this.

Because they feel that Chick fil A has become too “woke” after they stopped donating to anti-gay causes years ago and embraced DEI? Man. Even the right is virtue signaling now.

I think the taco bar is the tastiest idea. All the meat and veggies can be prepared in advance and just heated up.

DP. More than they would about yours, I assure you.

My reaction to being served food in that environment would be to either eat it or politely decline. Flouncing out isn’t one of my go-tos and hasn’t been since I was 12.

This is my vote for tastiest but it's a lot of work.

Pro tip to do big vats of rice and beans and have that at the start of the serving line so people don't load their plates with the more expensive and labor intensive toppings first.

Whatever you do please have a cheese free and a vegetarian option! At least on my kids' crowds there are a ton of vegetarians and they're basically always just given cheese.

Interesting. I’m very liberal, have a gay sibling and would def eat some nugs if my host served them. Not going to make a stand at their choice of food. Bigger fish to fry.

The vegetarians won't.

Their mac and cheese always gets scarfed up by my kid’s vegetarian friends.

I'm not a fan of Chic fil a, but damn their mac and cheese is good.

I really think Lasagna is the way to go. You could make spinach lasagna for the vegetarians and meat lasagna for non-veg folks. You could even buy frozen Costco or Stouffer's lasagnas to make it easier on yourself, but those aren't all that good.

As far as other casseroles go, a chili cornbread casserole might work -- and again, you could do a meat version and a veggie version. It's quite easy, but here is a recipe to give you an idea if you need it: https://belleofthekitchen.com/chili-cornbread-casserole/
