Infertility Support and Discussion
No one is imposing anything on you. No one is forcing you to do anything. |
| Seems like the logical protest is to start treating embryos like children. Claim them on your taxes as dependents, treat storage expenses as childcare, use the HOV lanes, take advantage of safe haven laws for drop off. There's a lot of room for malicious compliance. |
Aren’t you treating them like children? If the freezer at the facility that is storing your embryos, you would sue and be up in arms. |
This is so disingenuous. Yes, the religious right is imposing their views and beliefs on us. In this specific instance, the religious right is imposing their view of family formation on the people of Alabama. Imposing views on someone is not limited to forcing them to do something. Imposing views on others also comes in the form of deciding what is available as options to them as individuals. In this case, IVF candidates residing in Alabama will be forced to travel to another state or country to participate in a 40+ year old safe and effective procedure because they no longer have that option in Alabama. |
Trump government will confiscate embryos to “protect” them. |
| Medical students would be crazy to go into obstetrics and gynecology. It will put a chill on any research. |
| This is not great for our declining fertility rates. We're going to be an inverted pyramid like Japan soon. |
Very true. This is not good for science, society, or families. |
+1 Stop trying to force women to do things with their body against their will. Forced birthers are no better than rapists. |
States can start including them in population counts, which will Affect things like federal funding and congressional representation. |

The Catholic Church forbids IVF so many predominantly Catholic Countries either forbid IVF or have restrictions . Many other countries have a bunch of restrictions
Costa Rica banned IVF from 2000 to 2016 Italy IVF is only allowed between married heterosexual couple. Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Austria all forbid the practice of using donor eggs. Surrogacy is also not allowed in those countries except for the Netherlands. |
| Amniocentesis will be banned because of the risk of miscarriage, however small. |
And what is the point of amniocentesis if abortion isn't an option? |

Elections have consequences
Vote for Gilead, don't be surprised when they come for all the uteraii in your family |
| They will simply transfer the embryos to women during an unfavorable time of the month and call it a day. Nothing |
