St. Barta and my inhibitions.

There is a difference between privacy/modesty and shame. I'm not ashamed, but these goods are not for your eyes. Plus, I'm too fair skinned to risk that much sun exposure, and I'd probably blind you.

If your GF’s go topless you will feel pressure to follow but there is no need to. However, moving out of one’s comfort zone can be a good experience. I’m very conservative bordering on prudish but I’ve gone topless and the first time I did the world didn’t take notice. A few years ago we were walking though a central city park in Copenhagen and women were sunbathing topless at lunchtime. No big deal!

As a young kid from Illinois farmland, going from seeing my grandparents’ friends topless on the beach in the morning to dressed-up in evening wear that night was a trip.

There will be plenty of women sans bikini top and plenty with. You can go with whichever flow you want.

In my country women openly breastfeed their child and men are not salivating. I grew up seeing so many topless women that’s it totally natural for me. Women in my country don’t shave as well.

+1. Only one topless beach that I recall and the beach had very few people and even fewer who were topless.

Never thought about going topless at St Barth's and don't remember seeing anyone topless either. It's not Hedonism.

It is not that prevalent, and besides you should not do anything you are uncomfortable with. It is not your husband’s call, and somewhat sad that you seem to feel pressured to go along with other people’s opinions on this personal choice.

Saw this in Croatia also. Older, overweight women just took off their shirts on a sunny day in a park.

I disagree. Would definitely not do with mixed gender friends from home.

Might do with strangers I did not know.

+1 This is wishful thinking on your DH's part.

Sunblock. And a morning mimosa if you need it.

Life’s too short to hide inside over this.

People at Saline Beach and Gouverneur Beach are regularly nude. No one is forced to be nude or even topless, but it is regularly seen on those two beaches.

Recently went to St. Barts. A few people sans bathing suits on Saline Beach, but for the most part pretty discrete. If that’s what you enjoy, go to the left side of Saline Beach and the right side of Gouverneur Beach. Not a big deal.

We go there annually. People are pretty discrete at Saline Beach, even those who are fully nude. Gorgeous beach. Salines Garden is a small boutique hotel nearby, and Le Tamarin, one of the best restaurants on the island, is nearby as well.
